What on earth was he doing there? Nonetheless, it's not exactly smart to play a ball back to your keeper without even looking if he's there.
I'm watching the match and just saw the own goal. You cannot help but feel bad for the guy on such a stupid mistake. It made me throw up a little in my mouth while watching it.

I liked it when both the Real Madrid and Steau players consoled him after the game. It's the only right thing to do anyway.

Sure, but is it that hard to make sure of two basic rules:

1. Look if the keeper's actually there
2. Don't pass it into the direction of your own goal.
I don't think any defender with half mind would return the ball to the keeper without noticing where he's standing at.

Today I returned the ball twice to the keeper, one of them our keeper couldn't really handle it so he had to kick it out to the corner. It happens alot when you're under pressure.

Yeah, really a poor way to decide a football match. Shit like that is not for the faint of heart.

I felt sorry for Levksi's goalie yesterday as well. At 18 those are things that can break your career.

Well, it doesn't matter, does it? I'm not saying the keeper was right or isn't to blame, but why on earth would you take any risk?
While I played sweeper the only time I would pass the ball straight in on goal to my keeper was when I was above the arch and flustered due to pressure, having to rid myself of the ball asap. Of course the correct way of making a back pass is to slide the ball away from goal, however I do not think keepers are supposed to leave their goal like that either..

But whatever the case, that doesn't top a Materazzi masterclass.

Well, at least he now knows to be a little more careful when venturing out of his goal mouth. He doesn't have shit on Akinfeev anyway.

    The highlight of the evening:

Real Madrid taking the three points because Steaua's keeper was doing something other than keeping a goal.
Highlight of the night: Kaka banging in three goals ... Sheva riding the bench wondering 'what the hell was I thinking'....its kind of cute how Sheva has become Chelsea's version of Boriello :pint:

He was Injured Nick...Plus, I think he's getting adapted more to the EPL...he's finding his legs.
I loved Sheva with all my heart as a Milanista..he gave us great joy and marked his name .. that said, Kaka is 24 and has reached the level Sheva was at in his peak...it makes it easier for us to forget Sheva.

Sheva has been a bust...2 goals in 13 games .. don't tell me ANYONE on the team is NOT surprised...they and he failed to realize that Kaka and Pirlo are not on the Chelsea squad feeding Sheva and they don't have a striker like Inzaghi making the defenders go stir crazy to give Sheva room. Eto'o said it best "Shevchenko made a mistake..at MIlan attackers play"..with Chelsea you have midfielders that want to score and go for the long range shot rather than feed a la Pirlo or Kaka...

Sheva is 30 and he far from finding his form with Chelsea...

I beg you to tell me that thus far right now KAKA is NOT the best player in the world.
