Because they:

a) Have some insane world domination idea
b) Consider American sports to be more important than football
c) Played an absolutely lousy game
d) Because they're just so damn obnoxious. They managed to turn the WC into some anti-terrorism agenda. By now we KNOW the US have their own special bus, thank you very much.
You're such a joke.

I did aim that at Nick. And I was referring to the Patriot Act, which effectively took away some of your civil rights.
Actually the American system did the following for me:

My father arrived at 16 with his brothers..barely able to speak the language and despite being a top student in Italy he realized that the European system of "WHO you know" will only get him so far....what he knew was worthless...
Fast forward 30 years later where he and his brothers now owned vast amounts of real estate and were able to go back to Italy: to buy a vacation home...on top of that he was able to put his sons through Ivy league schools or where ever they wished and never denied them a single trip, vacation, soccer ball or childhood memory..meanwhile my cousins in Italy eagerly met us at the airport as kids asking "what did you bring me back"

America made me able to spend years on end overseas following around my favorite football club...Forza Azzurri yes but GOD BLESS THIS LAND above all....he who has the will to work will reap the benefits...not many nations coudl say that

    Rape that douche :pint:

Nick, the kid obviously doesn't undertand our system of government. Of course there are some bad things like the Patriot Act and our "me first" way of life, but he doesn't realize that the US is a very young nation compared with Europe. That said the US still has room to improve. Also he should remember that young nations do brash things as history shows us. And if he delves deep enough into his own history he will find few African nations that owe their Third World status to Belgium. Hopefully he will realize that his talking points are mute.

lol, today, during the France - Switzerland, the commentators were pointing out where Switzerland is on the map, and the map of Sweden pops up instead :howler:

This is really funny, because everytime I tell people I grew up in Sweden, I get the response "Oh Switzerland, cool."

No Andy I am permitted to call this team a stinking pile of horsesh*t because thats what they amounted to..
they claimed Europeans did not take them seriously..
they claimed they were the ones that would cause problems..
they claimed that their speed and undervalued talent woudl surprise many..

simply a joke...Angola kept it at 1-0 and actually kept Portugal at bay for a while
    Trinidad tied Sweden
USA was ranked AHEAD of most seeded teams and could not even manage to lose respectfully...

I never watched or gave two sh*ts about US soccer because growing up it was invisible...I mastered my italian through Gazzetta dello Sport and soccer related shows...I grew up playing soccer and idolizing the Italian players and the italian game...US soccer offered sweet fvck all to a kid growing up in NY at the time and in return I extended the 'friendship'....

I still thought it was a joke and the MLS was nothing more than a Serie C2 team 9at best) playing in big empty stadiums with has-beens ... I thought that the retarded theory of the Landon Donovan's to stay in the US was not really patriotic but would hurt his career because he would only be as good as the MLS allowed him to be..

I was right...even though I started to believe otherwise...

They must realize that the MLS will not spawn great talents ... they want to play against the world's best?? they better start understanding how they play and flourish under competitive leagues...
Okay then, just continue to perpetually bash us and hope that we lose because our soccer provided you with nothing in your New York slums consisting of all Italian immigrants. I never hyped my team to such ridiculous lengths, and even though we failed at this juncture it doesn't mean we will be destroyed when we play Italy, and it doesn't mean we are a shitty side. But hey, suit yourself. You obviously do not care for our football here in the States, so you can say whatever you want just like the rest of the people who hate America.

Fucking ESPN commentaters. Who are these guys? It like they paired up a washed out US player with the guys who do the 3am badmitten.
Hey, something tells me they're not even Germany. There was this one part where one of them says "...in World Cup '94, which was played here in the United States"

    What's up with that?

I hope so, but only if Italy finish first.
The only way that happens is if US ties Italy and then beats Ghana at least 4-0. Czech Rep has to lose to Italy and Ghana or lose to one and tie the other .

I was just watching the sports section on the local news, and the sports reporter was reviewing the Brazil - Croatia match. He's such a witty guy.

"Brazil got their only goal from Kaka, apparently named by Bevis and Butthead."

This is what I have to deal with in this country.
