Seriously Nick, he's coming up on 30 years old, Milan is going to get in excess of 35 million pounds for him to rejuvenate a severly aging defense, and Milan already has other options at striker with Gilardino, Pippo, and most likely Suazo.
Not "That" big of a loss, when you think about it, despite his major contributions to the squad.
Its not as if the cupboard is totally bare.

I acknowledge his contributions to Milan...I know he was a PILLAR all these years and respect his talents which delighted us from the his first day here....that said, after the standing ovation in the curva where he was present (which Paolo Maldini has not even gotten yet) ..after millions of pleas and more money he found no problem in flying to London and forgetting about Milan..for that reason, when he comes back to San Siro he can forget the same reception Gullit, Albertini, Rijkaard et al. received and can forget a farewell match that many received...
one is free to leave and free to look at other opportunities however, when he takes fans for a 'ride' as he has he has to live with the long term consequences..
Good Luck Sheva..have a good life
