Coach in US gets two-season ban
A coach has been suspended for two seasons by the US Major Indoor Soccer League for grabbing a match official by the throat during a heated exchange.

Baltimore Blast boss Tom Wittman was also fined an undisclosed amount following a review and investigation.

Wittman already had been banned for the remainder of the 2005-06 season, including the play-offs.

The MISL is a fast-moving six-a-side version of football played on artificial turf at ice hockey venues.

Wittman's altercation happened during Baltimore's 8-6 loss to the California Cougars in Stockton, California, on 18 March.

Defender Danny Kelly was named interim player-coach for the remainder of the 2005-06 season by the Blast.

So how has the purity of ice hockey been tarnished, Enron? How is that situation any different from that of the NFL, NBA, and any professional money-making sport we know?

The NHL took a game that had been enjoyed for most of a century and turned it into a mockery. I think I was the only person in the states that thought the change to a more offensive style of game was making a mockery of the only untouched game in America.

A 5-5 match is a mockery to the sport, especially in the playoffs. No team should give up 5 goals in a game and still be in the top half of the regular season standings.
