So after the first leg of the quarterfinals we can easily contemplate having all the Italian teams out of the tournament come this time next week...
Juve...I'm not going to rub any more salt in that wound because the display or lack of it by supposed 'key' players spoke for itself.
Inter...can never forget that they are INTER...haven't needed to change their team scarf since 1989 and remain the most unpredictable team in football...with an over-rated inept coach.
Milan...I wasn't convinced....at all. The fact is that in the first half they battled hard and had good possession. Played solid defense all game but could not break Lyon. Lyon was unable to score goals ... in the second half the game was all theirs as they outran Milan yet they couldn't do a damn thing....
Sheva was WAY off his game and the midfield at some points was non-existent. It will take consistentcy..concentration and luck to get through Lyon....

i thought Milan played better than you let on, but wait until Juninho gets back into the picture.

But what sucks that Tiago will miss the next leg, and I think he was the best player on the park tonight.
Seems like it....he and Kaka. Milan should have come out of this with a goal...after the first half ended I knew that wouldn't happen..they failed to capitalize in the first half and then didn't have any other chances.

Playing at San Siro is no easy feat for the Frenchies but on the other hand having to play Lyon at home (Milan) is also a scary ass thought for Milan....a goal will dig your hole faster than you can say 'elimination'.

Well, Juve is done for IMO. Milan and Inter have to get their act together before its too late...I don't even want to contemplate the possibility of all Italian clubs out of the competition at this juncture. :depressed
