After I saw their pathetic performance against Serbia, I'm pretty sure or lets say confident that they'll not pass. It's not like Messi will be doing everything on his own. If you look at it good, It's not an easy group not at all.
Friendly matches don't mean anything. Especially when you consider the Argentinians rarely perform in friendly matches and the Serbians (as a new nation) are determined to prove themselves. As was show in their matches during the qualification campaign and other friendlies.
The Dutch, on the other hand, are individualistic and non-nationalistic. And that's alright if you have a couple of A-class players that carry the team, but we don't. Not since 1988
And another thing is that you can't judge on Inter Vs Ajax game, So far I think Van Basten is doing pretty good job. Though I don't agree with him Leaving Edgar out.
Van Basten can only work with the players we have. Our defence is simply incapable. It didn't show in the qualification campaign because Romania's offense isn't very good and the Czechs were experiencing a form crisis and Nedved was absent.
Our defence failed terribly when we met an A-class team in Italy and it will fail again on the World Cup stage.
Holland had a tough group(Romania, Czech) and I saw them when they were here in Buchurest....I don't see them leaving from the first round.
That wasn't a tough group at all; see above reasons. Romania are vastly overrated.
