Graham: THe balloon is rarely filled to the top and its usually wet (UGH) on the outside so I assume its trial and error.
Ahh I assumed so. Didn't think they'd be organised enough to take funnels

Here in the USA, we (police and security guards) dont take this kind of crap at American football games.
Vin, do u get to watch footy for free then? If you're on security? If so, what's the closest you've gotten to assaulting a spectator?

Of course shes a fan... She goes to most games I do, plus a few others I cannot make.
Why is that surprising... Do women in australia not go to see football?
Truth be told, not many men in Australia like soccer, so there's the first problem. I'd rather watch a replay of one of my own indoor matches than the crap they churn out in the National Soccer League, and i'm too far away and too poor to travel anywhere that I can find some decent football. The best I've managed to do in terms of going with a girl is watching some sports at the 2000 Olympics.

Time is of the essence these days so I will answer all:

Vinman: You are right...growing up in the U.S. and going to watch the Yankees, Jets/Giants and Rangers/Islanders I was warned not to tee off the "crazy" fans at the games. However, the most tranquil fans in Italy give the crazy fans back home a run for their money. I think the situation has gotten so out of hand that at this point they a) fight fire with fire and b) deal with one situation at a time rather than re-vamp the whole game watching experience. Being crazy is part of the game here for many and I think it is their "raison d'etre". That said the 'dog pound' in Cleveland is similiar to some matches here with the beer throwing incidents and throwing fans down the stairs (the only good thing about here is that they seperate the two groups by force OTHERWISE you are out). The other thing is that the security here knows what can happen if they interfere...stabbings, mob beatings and flares. In the U.S. it is the opposite and the crazy fan knows what will happen if security catches you...back door roughing up and dragged down the stairs. Not many fans will lend a helping hand.

Paul: I couldn't see what the signs said either. I have a feeling it was scudetto related. The problem with growing up in the U.S. is that I have yet to realize and come to terms with the fact that you will not be able to watch the game (undisturbed) if you are in the CURVA. (Let me ask my friend he is the 4-1-1 on banners).
Personally I prefer the Brig. song because the words flow much easier! Even though I am "supposed" to be loyal to the FDL...all the same.
What I meant by my question was which one is the most reasonable?
To answer your question...I can't really tell who is throwing the shite from the Juve section. Not the Fighters I hope?

Stabbed in the thigh..that is rough. Thankfully I have never been face to face with a weapon yielding psycho. Though in a Roma Lazio match I received a metal object on the side of the head (thrown from a distance) but I had a cap on.

Graham: there are many female football fans in Europe. A few times I have come face to face with some on the other end of gates in which they insulted me to no end!

Fliakis: Thanks...or are you being your usual bohemian free spirit saracastic prick-ish self?!

    MY VERSION OF EVENTS:

The Gobbi's are renound for being "cavemen" Paul. Firstly, yes I was sitting in the heat of the action and I did throw some stuff back..a few blue seats that were hell to rip from the metal. I was on the second level/tier very close to the gates (seperating gates). So across from me was the Gobbi bastards yelling before we even arrived. The neo-Nazi Juventini above were already plastered and brandishing knives (criminals) and YES some of the losers in our section responded with more "brandishing" of armor.
The bottle throwing began at about 18:30 ... my New York slang cursing didn't help much as they couldn't understand what the fok I was saying.
Then along came the Gobbi's with fruit, ballons filled with piss :yuck: one dude got it right on the back and another Gobbis got it right in the ears. I basically hovered under my hood. Though one vegetable hit me in the shoulder to which I responded with a chair or two. (yeah yeah so what I was not thinking).
The real party began when our "cavalry" arrived at about 7:30 (one hour before game time) I speak of the FDL leaders, Brigate and Tigre .. it was at this point as they entered that I remember the fights began PAUL..and not instigated by the Devils as you suggested. Again I don't know what went on because all I heard was rumbles with red flares sparking up.
The tear gas only began once the police cars were set aflame by either the cavalry or the Gobbi's.. there are different versions on this one. Never got the real story.
The Real SHIT hit the fan a few minutes later when coins and ****in rotten fruit and piss began flying onto us to which we responded with a few surprises of our own...EGGS ANYONE...after getting another rotten friggin fruit in the neck I responded with some eggs. The cops quickly "settled" the Gobbis and things stopped flying.
I regret what went on but it was kill or be killed at that point..when you are ducking from piss, fruit and metal you are not thinking straight.

Whatever happened everywhere else Paul..I don't know...but when I was receiving that shite in my face I was not thinking about who was right or wrong..
Wooa. Ur most productive post so far Incubbo.

That story about what happens inside the colloseums of Italy is very very interesting. I didnt knew that those kind of things were doing during games. Tell me more! :thumb:

If some day i go to delle alpi... ill surely think twice about were ill seat..... i dont want to end in the middle of a Poo-War or something like that.

About the Security..... im with Vinman.... definitely something have to be done.... to try to control it. At least to minimize the quantity of missiles.

About the Piss-filled baloon and the rotten fruits.... man......... after that i would take a bath with clorox or something like that. I cant imagine yourself or anyone stinking like shit the whole game... :yuck:

I left the forum for a few weeks and it seemed like someone died..not implying anything..far from it this forum was actually decent before I got here..but no use crying over spilled milk. Whats done is done.
This is in what u fail incubbo.... u can be a nicer poster u know

    U are funny-

About the reasons of your bitternes..... come on....... dont get so mad about those facts........... after all... now u are in the top of the world right ;). Enjoy it... and reeellaaxx.

Not to get too far off subject, but this "fan" behavior is totally ridiculous in Italy.

Here in the USA, we (police and security guards) dont take this kind of crap at American football games.

People would NEVER be able to get into the stadium with any of the sort of things mention here in this thread.

I can't believe flares are allowed in the stadiums in Italy. You might as well let them bring in grenades while there at it too.........

I had an argument with good 'ol Nina last year regarding fan violence at the games, and what should happen if a fan is stupid enough to go onto the field. Lets just say what happens is very painful to them here in the states......

Maybe the security at these games in Italy is way too lax and liberal.....
    I agree.

Security is also tight at any EPL games ive been to. It can be a hassle to even take a bottle into the stadium.

Italy dont seem to want to fix there fan violence problems, it isnt so hard to ensure these kinda things dont get into stadiums, it also isnt so hard to ban the people responsible.

    Mac are you back too?!!!!!
no just working on assignments these days so im in the library late :(

No , fighters are the biggest group and occupy curva scirea (the opposite end to where you were), So are never involved in anything at home games... They are well organized and have a good relationship with the club and players alike.

The curva nord (where you were next too), these days is a mess as there is no main group controlling it anymore.
Now it is jus a mixture of idiots and small groups going under the centro flag.
Theres lots of in fighting and no organisation... as such you get problems with away fans.
This wasnt a problem 2 years ago, as we had jus 2 main groups.

Fighters in the curva scirea and irriducibili Vallette in the curva nord.
This made for a great relatively trouble free atmosphere and was well organised at both ends of the ground.

Unfortunately Vallette collapsed a couple of years ago and curva nord is now a complete mess.

Luckily we have a pretty good away record as when away from home fighters flex their authority and organise everything... so the idiots are pushed into the background.

I may be wrong but I got the impression that the fdl were like fighters in being based in the home end at the san siro... so like fighters dont have too much contact with the away fans... please clarify?

Stabbed in the thigh..that is rough. Thankfully I have never been face to face with a weapon yielding psycho. Though in a Roma Lazio match I received a metal object on the side of the head (thrown from a distance) but I had a cap on.
It was jus a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.... not a big deal really, a few staples and a couple of litres of blood.
Had worse overall experiences but thats the only one where I or anyone I know got hurt.
The ones that bother me most have been when we have been harassed/ attacked by other 'fans' whilst ive had my daughter with me.
Not enough time for that now ....

I cannot believe what I saw during the Lazio/roma game.

These fans are COMPLETELY out of control !!!!!!!

Tear gas being used by Roma tifosi, flares flying on the field, and a bullshit story to suspend the game......not to mention the fires being started inside the stadium.

It all started before the game by a bunch of thugs from both sides fighting in the streets, and things got worse inside the stadium.

I also cannot believe that these thugs are allowed to go onto the field and converse with the players. Why was Totti even bothering talking to these clowns ?????!! They should be arrested !!!!!!!!!

No such fiasco's would ever , EVER happen here in the USA.

Suspend the game over a Romanista lie ???? What about all the "normal" fans in the stadium there to watch a good game ?? What about the world-wide audience ??????

How stupid do Italians and Serie A look now ???????

    I'm embarrased for them.................

    WHAT A FOKIN WEEK...

Last week the Juve-Milan experience and this week a I took my friend (a Romanista) up on his offer to join him at the game thankfully in the Tribuna. (Middle of the field...much much more calm crowd).
Firstly we in the Tribuna didn't really know what the hell was going on besides seeing those morons hijack the field. Word soon spread really fast that apparently a Romanista had died after being run over by a police car in the fights which by the way broke out since we arrived there at 18:00 (game began at 20:30). Bottle throwing over police barricades, charging the barricade and over turning the occasional little Fiat 500.
In the Roma-Lazio game this is not new however the feeling was extremely tense.
Anyhow I won't go into detail about the match events or the fights because we were not in la Curva and our section was calm throughout because some "bigwigs" are sometimes in the section.
Leaving however was HELL...first we began to leave when they announced the match was officially suspended. Our exit just to enter the corridor was blocked because of a fight or two in the corridor this caused a bottleneck in the first exit...people pushing behind us..etc. Finally when we reached that exit we were re-directed a million damn times down the corridors. My friend and I basically just found our own way out but were once again blocked by burning cars....police warnings and at one point the eerie hint of tear gas in the air. It took us an hour and half to exit L'Olimpico. Outside was chaos at one far end...fires, objects thrown. Disgusting and pitiful display. The Police did little but protect their own skin.
Anyways..what a week. Vinman you are right..this would not happen in U.S. games...maybe because we are scared sh*tless of the security .. is it a sign of a authoritarian state ..WHATEVER..it avoids this kind of anarchy ... so be it.

Thank God youre ok!! that sounded like a total hell, although I would hate to go to a football game in the USA where everythings organized and stuff... it should be in a medium level, not too tight but not too violent like in Italy

Yeah safety is very important, thats when I go to football matches here I always go to the VIP section... there are lots of people drunk! and its worse if the home team loses because people are always looking for the other team's supporters to start fights
