I couldnt think of a busier thread to ask this question in,so here goes :

To work in an growth oriented environment in a manner that proves advantageous to my employer and my ownself, and to nurture my skills in the process

Does this sound grammaticaly correct? The 'and my ownself' bit sounds incorrent grammaticaly..or does it?

Ownself is wrong.

So last night I'm watching a documentary on MSNBC about prison inmates. They're showing this one guy who's called "Double Life" or something because he has two life sentences. Really nasty guy this. Anyway, he likes to write letters to prison employees. So they ask this one lady what a letter from him is like and she says:

"Well I get a letter from Double Life at least once a month. A typical letter from him is about five pages long. It has about two to three written pages and then the second last page is stuck together by his semen, and the last page has an imprint of his penis.

:lol2:

To work in a growth oriented environment in a manner that proves advantageous to both my employer and myself ,and to nurture my skills in the process.

Alternatively omit the 'both' and 'and' between my employ and myself. So:

"...advantageous to my employer, myself, and also to nurture my skills in the process."

It's way off and too overcomplicated.
To work in a growth oriented environment in a manner that proves advantageous to both my employer and myself ,and to nurture my skills in the process.
No need for the comma, but yea, that's better.

'Five shot' in US shopping centre

Five people have been shot at a shopping centre in the US city of Chicago, authorities say.

Local media quoted police as saying four people had been killed in the shooting, in the southern suburb of Tinley Park.

The incident happened at about 1045 (1645 GMT) in a Lane Bryant clothing store, in Brookside Marketplace shopping centre.

A suspect in the shooting is reported to have fled the scene.

Police Sgt T J Grady said officers responding to an emergency call found the victims inside Lane Bryant. He said police had yet to establish a motive for the shooting.

"Every store was immediately canvassed and a search by air, too, has given us every indication that the offender has left the scene," he added.

He said police were looking for a black man about 5ft 9 inches tall and weighing 230 to 260 pounds, dressed in a black waist-length winter coat, a black cap and black jeans.

Witnesses said police shut down nearby shops and searched the area with their guns drawn.

How about simplifying:

To contribute to, and professionally develop in, a growth-oriented company

Then you can optionally add the part:

and score with any of the hot pootie hanging around the copy machine

art monk finally gets his and is going to the HOF

about fucking time.

Actually, the Grammy Awards make the NFL & MLB HOF look like the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
