what exactly do they have to do ??
Now I believe the West Coast and East Coast satellites are different for RAI Intl coverage in the States.

That said, here's the text verbatim:
As of November 14, 2007, you will be unable to view your International television channels with your current satellite antenna. To prevent an interruption in service, it is important that you contact DISH Network as soon as possible to schedule the professional installation of your FREE antenna upgrade.

Please call us today at 1-888-878-0144 to schedule your FREE antenna upgrade. Without this upgrade, you will be unable to view your International channels after October 31, 2007.

Thank you for your support during this change. We appreciate your business and look forward to providing you with top-quality television and technology for many years to come.

Again, please call 1-888-878-0144 today to secure a convenient installation window.

Sincerely,
DISH Network International Television
Don't you just love the same message with two completely different dates? (I left out the "para español: eat shit and die" part.)

Sounds like they could be reallocating frequencies on one of their satellites, may need to reposition, and/or changed something in the broadcast signal that would require me to upgrade the dish I have. (Like you, I have two dishes, one for local channels/international and one for the rest.)

Of course, the idiot on the phone says, "and it's guaranteed for 90 days!" To which I replied, "Which means I am guaranteed to pay your sorry asses for the next 90 days! The rest is up to you."

Greg, if you haven't already seen it, go see "Tropa de Elite". If you liked City of God then you'll love this.
Haven't heard of it, Zé. Thanks for the tip. Definitely going to check that out.

So what you think about Newsweek calling Pakistan the most dangerous country in the world on its recent cover story??

So this television wrangle is down to Napoli home matches? Shit, they are back in Serie A for half a minute and they are already acting like they own the place.
I think Napoli secured home TV rights with some guy in waste management. This was true last season in Serie B, let alone Serie A this season. Every time RAI wants to air a Juve match at the San Paolo, someone in Poggioreale Prison gets slipped a half-dozen sharpened metal bars and Maradona's annual coke supply.

Like this is any surprise, I see whomever was in charge of Champions League programming at ESPN USA died in 1997 and still has yet to be replaced, with everything running as usual on auto-pilot.

Today: Chelsea - Schalke, Real Madrid - Olympiacos. Yesterday: Rangers - Barcelona, Dynamo Kyiv - ManU.

As always, the only teams in the world worth watching are the Gag-Me United chokers from the UK plus Real Madrid and Barcelona. Even the reigning champs, Milan, don't even get aired without being the opposition to these sides until the elimination rounds. :disagree:

For the four billionth time: can someone explain to these retards that I don't live in the UK, so stop treating me as if I do?

As you probably noticed, I don't even rant about this nonsense anymore. It's a lost cause, and the English Football clowns will continue firing off their anal cannons in unison for the foreseeable and unforeseeable future.

These people could use some flying heads to knock some sense into them.

I haven't read that, I'll look it up. I'm not surprised though to be honest. The West has for a long time now depicted Pakistan as a dangerous place to visit, which has really hurt Pakistan's tourism.

A lot people don't realize what Pakistan has to offer as far as tourism is concerned. There are Buddhist archaeological sites, Mary-mother of Christ is buried there, the Silk road goes through Pakistan, the second highest mountain peak (K2) is there, Kashmir considered Heaven on Earth by many or the Switzerland of Asia, etc.

Up until recently the violence was centered in certain regions of Pakistan, such as parts of Karachi where sectarian fights were and are ongoing. The rest of Pakistan however, has had no incidents. Up until recently Punjab, which is the most happening part of Pakistan was incident free and as 'safe' as India is considered.

What's happened now is that since Pakistan is backing this so called 'war on terror' they are cracking down on the Al-Qaeda and Taliban influence in the North West Frontier Province, which has been a shaky place ever since fundamentalist Afghans started pouring in during the Soviet war. Due to this, these people have now declared a war against Musharraf; Osama bin Laden has urged his "com-idiots" to wage a jihad against Pakistan basically, and this is why all this mess is happening.

You go back six months and none of this was happening, at least not in Punjab. Even now, the violence is centered in the NWFP and is spilling onto the outskirts of Islamabad. It's sad because Pakistan is one of the most 'liberal' Muslim countries. The only country that beats Pakistan in those terms is Turkey.

This whole invasion of Iraq has ruined so many innocent lives and it is ruining the already tarnished image of Pakistan, it's really sad.

You know shit, young man. You know nothing.

In the 1970's and 80's, having an Italian surname meant you were supposed to live in the little Italy section of town, which was usually a ghetto. Since I'm from a place that had no Blacks, you can probably guess where italians fit in on the white-dominated social scale. But I was born into a family with some money, but not rich, and lived in the nicest section of town - therefore, we HAD to be mafia, and good Christian and Jewish kids were instructed to stay away. And yes, I was refused entry to several places because "No Italians" was quite common. Fact.
You're only proving my point. This is what happens to Italian Americans. It obviously isn't a feeling common amongst Italians, as they aren't a minority in Italy.

hey man its better if you live in the UK and have sky, you can watch any one of the 8 games that you want to. even betetr a "goal alert" comes up whenever a goal is scored so you simply press the red button and it shows you the goal before taking you back to the match you were watching.

cant turn off their fucking biased commentary though but you cant have everything:p

My point being, you tried to tell Vinman he isn't Italian after he has lived most of his life having to live as an Italian whether he wanted to or not. Things are different today, and there are no problems in most places, but after growing up being handed a shit sandwich because of your ethnicity, you tend to get a bit angry when someone says your not Italian, now that it's ok to be Italian.

Back when I was applying to universities, it was a major advantage to check the race and gender boxes for White and Male. 20 years later, these are both major disadvantages. So, you cannot require that I cehck the "Other" race box in 1984, and then tell me in 2000 that I must check "White". Try to disadvantage me like the Black Females of the old days, and I get pissed off too :)

Never did understand how they arrive at what race a person is, and have never known what to check. I mean, one box says White: Of European Ancestry. Then Hispanic includes Spanish and Portugese. So, when the hell did Spain and Portugal leave Europe. Since I'm Italian and feel closer in blood to Spanish and Portugese than I do to German and Swedish, I make my own and write "Latin (Non-Hispanic)".

This whole system is highly discriminatory anyway. Obviously you and Vinman both have to check white. The problem IMO doesn't lie in the present, but rather in the past. Because, as you say, you obviously are of European Ancestry. As for "Italian", Vinman might be Italian in America, but he's not Italian in Italy.

I never quite understood how America, which is a country of immigrants, has a past of blatant racism towards certain ethnicities. Sure, racism is a European "value", but nonetheless it's odd that it should be so prevalent in America. Perhaps it's a twisted form of selfdefinition, because every immigrant has to define himself one way or the other.

It's funny, most think of racial tension here as a Black v. White scenario. However, in places such as mt home city, where there are no Blacks, it becomes ancestoral. Irish v. Italian, England v. everydody else. Human nature is such that everybody needs someone to feel superior to. "So the English make us wops feel like were second class, ok, at least we're better than those Puerto Ricans. They hardly speak English". That sort of thing.

Don't mind me, I'm just tossing my banana.

Pado, most every culture that immigrated to the US has faced this sort of thing. With the exception of the WASPs. Even the Irish used to be below Italians, blacks and jews on the haterade food chain at one time. My mom and dad didn't almost weren't able to be married because my pops family is protestant and mom's is catholic.

If it makes you guys feel any better. I have never denied an Italian entry to my place of business. And I love your women.
