How nice. On this very day that they've killed Zarqawi, they've created about a dozen more Zarqawi's. :disagree:
Yep. I had the same thought when I heard the news this morning. It would have been one thing if they had apprehended, arrested, and put him on trial. It's another to drop a couple of 500-lb bombs on the guy.

This isn't a fight against bad individuals as much as it's a fight against bad ideas. The real measure of success is in the form of the latter, not the former. Blowing people up generally just confirms suspicions in some circles and allows bad ideas to perpetuate/propogate. You cut off the head of this serpent, and three more are going to grow back. Bomb Osama, and that doesn't stop matters.

To be honest, it's rather tough to apprehend the top Al Qaeda leader in Iraq considering it took us years to find him and the fact he would probably take his own life before putting cuffs on. Bringing a terrorist in like Zarqawi is almost impossible. So, shall we decide not to kill him and keep playing this game of hide and seek, or should we just take him out? Either way, the killing will not be ending any time soon.

Hardly. The guy was an evil bastard and certainly deserved every bit of the half ton of explosives that landed on him.

But when you have a "war on terror", you're out to win over minds ... not land and resources as in a traditional war. It's easy to lose sight of that and win victories in the form of small battles at the expense of losing the overall war.

I hope so, this is more in favour of Iraqis and Arabs in General, than the rest of the world.

    Hey Pado --

You know what's the perfect compliment to a Weird Finnish Guy with Testicles Hanging Out Bottom of Unitard?

How about a Woman with Belly-Button Hanging Out Between Her Snoopy Socks?

"Excuse me, is that your belly button or are you smuggling in illegals from El Salvador?"

I'm turned on. How about you all?

    Where's lunch again?

    :yuck:
