Well had to cut trip short for health and family reasons...

Anyway, spent a while today reading through some of the posts over the course of the euros.

Interesting to see peoples true colours in these kind of things... The distasteful remarks towards certain countries and also the people of those countries is remarkable, though its good to know what people really think.

Also interesting to see that though there is time for endless baseless transfer rumours there is not one mention of the far more important events in the latest round of the juventus doping trial ... hmmm strange but true

Paul, I see on Gazzetta.it that there is news from the doping trial, but I am unable to get the full report due to my limited Italian skills. Do you know what the latest is?

Briefly....

The trial restarted today

As expected agricola denied everything and it went to the testimony of Giuseppe D'Onofrio who has been investigating various physical test results, especially the haemoglobin levels of players during the period of 94 - 98 and there relevance to the possible use of epo.

He mainly focussed on conte and tacchi.

He said that the the levels shown in conte were at dangerous heights and that tacchis were indicative of long term damage and he was susceptible to disease.

Chiappero then questioned the validity of D'Onofrio's findings.

That was what was said on tv earlier... i have a couple of reports to read (and the assoc ticker is crowded with it at the mo) so as to be a bit clearer and know exact details... havent looked at any websites yet

It said there would be a full report on the tv tonight

going to see the Olympics games there, Nick?

btw, do you need Visa to go to Greece..?if yes, how long it takes to get it..?

    and what is S.P.Q.R...?
    Gandalf:

Purpose: Not really BUT I may stick around to watch an Italy game..or two. However, I will also be in Egpyt (Sharm al sheikh resort).

VISA: No .. I'm an American :nasty: We enter with or without invitations. :D I don't know if Visa's WERE needed to Greece BUT usually when a nation hosts the Olympics they either temporarily or permanently remove the system otherwise Embassy offices would be bombarded with requests.
    (I know Australia required a Visa pre-2000)

SPQR: basically in brief...the long ago motto for the city of Rome. (Latin Initials)

on going joke: Sono Porci questi Romani (These Romans are Pigs)

cheers guys but its nothing serious jus shredded the lining of my throat with a mixture of 2hrs constant screaming, a few fish bones and the crustiest bread in history at the football on thursday.

Was a bit worrying to suddenly start coughing blood all over the place and then the feeling of drowning in my own blood later on.

Worst bit was the doc sticking that fvcking camera down my throat... not a nice experience... and of course not being able to talk... though the 3 ladies of my house have found great amusement in me not being able to speak... what can you do with families??

Really annoying not being able to talk to baby callum .... sure i'll make up for that as soon as its been sorted.

Basically jus got to go in and have them remove some damaged flesh and tidy it up... doc says i should be able to speak allmost straight after wards, but speech wont be back to normal for a while and it will take some time to stop hurting and for the swelling to die down..... maybe a month or even 6 weeks

I hope you feel better Paul, I bet it must hurt a lot!

Nick, I stayed at the Ritz Carlton there like three months after it was opened and my advise is to bring lots of camera film because you'll need it. The Red Sea is amazing.
