If there really was anything to the new Moggi story, then why is this the dominant story in the world's (i.e. not Italy) football news:

Toilet break forces Barthez to miss medal presentation

PARIS, May 2 (Reuters) - Olympique Marseille goalkeeper Fabien Barthez says he missed Saturday's French Cup final medals ceremony because he had to go and answer the call of nature.
Perhaps Barthez wanted to squeeze out another Zebina or two before WC 2006.

I'm sorry! The answer we were looking for was:

All 3 have reported UFO sightings within the last 24 hours.
What can I say? You caught me.

I was stalking Phil Mogg outside his flea-bitten hotel here to sign my copy of Strangers In The Night (hey -- it was recorded at one of the first shows I ever attended at the long-since-razed Chicago Amphitheater). :pumpkin:

Greg, I looked at the pic of those Rednecks from Shitsville and thought, "Guys like That are the reason there are so many UFO sightings reported." Then I thought, "Who on this forum also seems like the type to have reported a sighting?"

. . . and you see who I came up with.

Ahh. There's a difference between a sighting and an autopsy, my friend The Pado.

Many people have claimed to have made Elvis sightings... but how many you know can claim to have made an Elvis autopsy? :pumpkin:

Oh I've seen the name before in Italy. Some girl: Anna Arena :wallbang:

I would disagree on how to handle the Czechs. Come out attacking is exactly what we did on Euro2004 and we all know how that ended :groan: In the WC qualification round, we let them come at us and focused more on counter attacks. Of course; that requires a great in-form keeper, which Van der Sar was at that point. Then again, it didn't really go wrong for us on Euro2004 until *after* Robben had been replaced for Bosvelt and we really focused on defending so you might be on to something here.
The only problem I see with playing the counterattacking game is that our side does not look very good when we simply sit back and let the opposition attack us. Our attack is far superior to our defense, and we are not always capable of soaking up loads of pressure and attacking forays. I can see a situtaion such as the first half in our March friendly against Germany happen again against the Czechs, where we let the Germans have more of the ball and decided to sit back which was obviously the wrong move because we were simply outplayed. This team cannot sit back too much because once we are on our heels we have a tendency to falture. If the Czechs establish a rhythm while we do nothing to establish one of our own, we will simply be beaten by their skill going forward. They are indeed a tricky team to face.

Congrats Andy. While I wish I could say the same I fear I cannot. I tore up my Senior thesis but I fear I have not done enough to do well in my other courses. We will see what happens.
Thanks my man, and I hope some of my "luck" brushes off on my favorite "Pool" supporter..

Thanks as well, Vinni.

Alright, I think I've figured it out. Here's how Holland will advance from the group stage:

Code:
                     Edwin van der Sar

                     Khalid Boulahrouz
André Ooijer Philip Cocu Edgar Davids

Nigel de Jong Mark van Bommel Robin van Persie

Denny Landzaat Ruud van Nistelrooy Arjen Robben
The defence is a serious worry. I wonder how Van Basten will solve it :undecide:
What the...that is one hell of an unbalanced side, my man. Argentina will draw Ooijer and Davids out to the wing and strike right through the center of the midfield and defense with the diamond at the back. I like the front three, especially including Landzaat, however van Persie playing left midfield? Van Bommel holding centrally? What about Maduro?

I can see Davids playing a left-back role, however you could also use him in the midfield. Van Bronckhorst is not as sound defensively as Davids, so I see your point in that respect. That's an intriguing XI, to say the least.

I'd put Heitinga in there, but Van Basten has selected Ron Vlaar over him for whatever god awful reason. Luca Toni is already hoping he can face us with Vlaar in the back 4 again :lazy:
:D
