mmm Vieri? we all saw what happened in Euro
i would swap him with Casano, as cassano is a very talented player BUT he is just not playing in real, so he is off form.

Vieri is a strong forward but he is not having a good season, because of this i think Antonio can do something, even when off form

After a long absence from the San Siro by yours truly it was like I never left...I have never suffered like I did today (last night...whatever I have not slept yet) ... the crowd was NEVER this supportive and loud...80 thousand plus 60 thousand Milanista's Chanting, singing jumping at the 80th minute when we were 10 minutes from ELIMINATION...10 minutes from ending our season .... 10 minutes from the END of 2005-2006 SEASON....
The MAN some called finished..the man who even after being away for a year has come back to prove everyone wrong..the man everyone be-littles for diving (when did he dive) for being offside (called offside twice and video replay shows he was on side)..the man Juventini laughed at when he left only to watch him lift a CL title a year later ........a man DESTINED FOR GERMANY IN JUNE ..the poacher's POACHER picks up on Sheva's work and puts us through....
I felt 20 people jumping on my back....screams so loud around me I didn't know where I was for a second...the concrete floor shaking..the stadium felt like it was being swallowed by the crowd....
This team refuses to die..this team refuses to let Italian journalists who were already counting an Inter-Juve semi-final have the last say....

P.S. Villareal scarves were visible after the game and some even started selling them :pint:

I just watched the highlights again, and if Nick says the goals were anything more than sheer luck he seriously is a biased whopper-eating Milanista. He should be feeling lucky that Pirlo was not called for a handball and Dida didn't shank the ball in his own net after such inept stupidity.

Determination? Effort? Milan fighting spirit? Nick was the same guy who was spouting Liverpool won simply because of LUCK almost a year ago. Lyon were the better side on the night and Milan were LUCKY to progress. Simple as that. I'm tired of reading biased and hypocritical Milanista reporting.

i thought Lyon where terrific for 70 odd minutes than Ancelotti truley surprised me with the subs he did he changed things in the middle? Pirlo off for Ambrosini, Gattuso off for Maldini, serghino pushed up to left wing maldini left back, he would have been forgiven if he put another striker on for defender but he didnt! and all of a sudden Lyon where shut down in the middle! And there chances dried up they just decided to push players back and try to suck it all in but couldnt! Junihno was surberb all game but he was tired and needed to b taken off and Houlier decided to change the wings and strikers, not a great move wen the midfield all of a sudden was gone! The game changed Milan pressed and pressed and through a long ball and some poor marking of sheva strike the off the posts goal came from Inzaghi , the team clebebrated while Inzaghi went for a run and sucked it all in like he was the true hero yet i beleive it was Ancelotti! wat can i say well coached Ancelotti i gotta hand it too u! wonderful subs! Cause Lyon were starting to look very safe yet dangerous on counter with Malouda dominating and so was the right winger i am not sure of his name! but wen Ancelotti changed things it was all shut down !

It's very tough to qualify who the better side was last night as Milan were poor and Lyon average. If you call conservatively pressing a very poor opponent; yet going a goal behind, equalising in a fortunate way and then never looking like killing a game off a smart performance then I don't know what a bad one is. :p

Milan were LUCKY in the end with the result but it was wholly deserved and I have no sympathy for Lyon and Houllier. Milan played badly all night as they never once got going - I don't believe this one down to Houllier's tactics or team; simply a poor defence base and Pirlo having a bad night was unable to orchestrate the team from it's usual origin. However, when an opponent fails to capitalise on such a poor opponent and then drops back in the lat 10-15 minutes to accept a result which would have barely deserved they initiate it themselves. This is where Milan have to be given a huge amount of credit; they showed character and at the end great quality from Shevchenko and Inzaghi to pounce on the smallest of chances.

Great points...and I am glad I am not the only one giving credit to Ancelotti where due. Yesterday, we saw the complete opposite to a Capello team. Ancelotti concedes all responsibility to the players once they cross the white line. Their only requirement was to seek the ball, play and let the class difference show. The team was unable to do this and I doubt Ancelotti had anything different to say at HT. However, when they were still not performing he took off the instigator (in both ways) Pirlo and moved Seedorf centrally and pushed Serginho forward who was the only dangerous Milan player all night. He made a brave but obvious decision and did not hide. He didn't go for the obvious in throwing on an extra striker or substitution upfront which would have had no affect.

So here we saw a coach who gave full licence to the players and when they flattered he made the most minor of tactical changes but still left it ultimately up to the players to win the match.

ancelotti made some very good tactical changes bringing in maldini so the dangerous serginho could push up, all in all lyon played very well, but after what happned in istanbul, milan were due a bit of luck, all credit to pippo who is always there at the right time and sheva, top goalscorer in the european cup.......great player

Right....midfield control leads to Sheva receiving the ball...beating the keeper..UNLUCKILY the ball hitting BOTH posts and Inzaghi or KAKA being there to put it in..and thats LUCK??

Coming from a team that relied on a keeper DROPPING the ball in a routine play forgive me when I say..

    I don't give a f*ck...

As always you will never understand...

Attack and Offense is foreign to Juve .... they faced a similiar team determined team in Arsenal problem is Juve gave up early..have too many Zlatan's (no heart) and not enough Pippo's (all heart) and crumbled not even getting ONE shot on net....

You want to compare Liverpool getting a PK and scoring from 40 yards out thanks to our inept keeper to this???

You can call it luck your ballz turn blue if it makes you happy....

    P.S. Burke...

Everyone expected our campaign to end at the Bayern match up

Barca shoudl concentrate on passing Benfica then they can think about playing Milan..and when we beat Barca more excuses will flow as it usually does when Milan wins....and wins...and wins...

ENJOY THE SCUDETTO...at least you are not totally useless like Inter this season

I gather you are as confident as last year in Milan winning the CL.
No..Milan had a better squad last year..at this time and in fact AFTER the semi's were over they were the only team battling for the League title and CL title...they lost both but throughout the year they were much more consistent than they have been this season...it is why last season's blunders burns them so much...lesser quality teams went on to win silverware....

Last season the defense was injury free...and midfielders were much more consistent...
I am not worried about the Barca's...I am worried about the Arsenal's and teams that have nothing to lose because expectations were not big for them to start off with...
Milan has always been able to step it up against Big Teams...it is the underdogs (Serie A) and CL that burns them

ok, you weren't lucky, but lyon were a better team in both matches for all i care.

some credit must go to the pig, but its not that his substitutions reformed the game. lyon had a good result with 15mins to go, milan needed to attack. its only the natural that the french sat back and tried to defend their lead. indeed, as someone mention, that was similar to milan-ajax scenario of 3 years ago.

and who played in the final that season?

I am as confident as you that Milan will reach the final, and I am even more confident on how they will win the semi final wether it was Benfica or Barcelona; with a more deserved win if it were Barcelona. But I am not sure at all Milan will win the cup.

I stand with my word when I said earlier this season that Arsenal will win the cup. I was mocked back then, Arsenal hadn't even played Madrid then.

you had the best team in 2004, and should really have won it that year, you could beat barca, and i think arsenal as well in the final if they get there.....one thing i give milan credit for is they show heart, and pippo always plays his heart out
