See I'm not too sure that's true. I can only really speak for my own country on this instance but most Dutchmen and women are just happy to live here. Pride is taking it one step too far.

Same goes for Sweden. People were actually upset at the fact that a different holiday was 'cancelled' and was instead moved to the Swedish National Day, which was never a celebrated holiday up until last summer. People were totally bumbed out. They just don't see anything to celebrate.

Yeah we get that. We have a couple of national holidays like Queen's Day but even that (although vastly popular) isn't so much a celebration of nation/culture/queen as it is just an excuse to party randomly
