BTW Burke; concerning the "Ja" and "Jawohl" in German (the latter I never use because it's something you would answer a command with - as opposed to the slightly more hierarchical American "Sir, yes, sir") - the Germans are using Dutch as slang nowadays when they wanna say "No"
The official form is of course "Nein" but the youth is now using 'our' "Nee" (pronunciation: nay [only softer, more gentle]). Presumably they think it's cool because you barely have to open your mouth to say it... I should look into that...

Yea, it has been a while since I have studied German, but that is what i understood when I took it.
That is simply because we play better in our matches. I agree we have not played anyone of note, but we do whip up on TNT, Puerto Rico and all those joke teams, that is why we are up so high.
Sort of like WVU being ranked like 10 in football when we have not been tested, but like WVU, the US will play some huge team and whip up on them because they are not taken the way we need to.
They didn't play any quality matches, no real qualifiers.
When they did play good clubs, they got whipped up on.
I agree with the rankings, but the rankings don't mean dick when it comes down to it.
Just like seedings in the NCAA tourney, there are always upsets no mattter what. I don't think Germany will do nearly as well as they did last WC, but they still need to be taken seriously because of the home field advantage.
