Another great match yesterday for Twellman and especially Clint Dempsey. The last three matches I have seen those guys play they have absolutely torn up the pitch and this is great to see...Dempsey is so slick in midfield and the Japanese last night could only manage to foul him time and time again. If he continues on with this sort of form it will be hard for Arena to keep him out of the starting XI in Germany, especially when nobody can really contain him. Dempsey seems to have a bright future that is AWAY from the MLS...hopefully he wont succumb to the same p*ssy illness that Donovan made excuses about.

I didn't like Klein at right-back and I'm sure either Cherundolo or Hejduk have it covered, and while Eddie Pope had a great match yesterday I still prefer a few players to him in central defense. Zavagnin never really does anything in holding midfield and he probably wont make the side for Germany, and while Noonan had a decent match I doubt he will make it either.

We have NEVER had so many good attacking options in midfield...Dempsey, Donovan, Beasley, Reyna, O'Brien, Lewis, Convey, Ralston...the list goes on and on. We have to credit this solely to everybody's favorite circus clown, the MLS, and no matter what any pundit says our league has helped to develop some future stars and provided us with a foundation to build on. And it's not like the league isn't imrpoving with every passing year, as some hate to admit..

Never mention the idea of Frankie "I choke in big MLS games" Hejduk starting on the US world cup team. Id take Vanney over his ass any day. The match also featured the return of Eddie Johnson who showed signs of his pre injury form. I thought he was going to do his Ronaldhino impression a couple times. As long as our starting 11 doesnt have Eddie Lewis at left back I will be happy.

Forsberg's contract expired or something in Colorado after the last NHL season and decided to go to Philadelphia I suppose because they offered him a great package and team to surround him.

Yeah that was good stuff...I love shutting out those pathetic wannabes. We have been playing very well lately and hopefully we wont lose any steam because of this Olympic break.

Well actually Hejduk has been playing rather well for the National Team lately and was quality in some of our qualifiers, however Cherundolo is obviously our first choice back there. Vanney is a left-back and I'm not exactly sure what he's doing now because we have been using Lewis and Dunivant at left-back lately. We must find a place for Bocanegra and I hope he can take that left-back role.

And I actually think Lewis would be a great option at left-back because of his prowess going forward...that would give us yet another attacking option on our flanks. However, the question will always be whether Lewis can do the dirty defensive work..

I think the fact that Eddie Lewis and defending not really going together should cancel out his chances of NT stardom. Id much rather see Vanney or Negra. Actually Negra at left. And I know Vanney is a lefty and Id rather him play right than Hejduk. I dont trust Frankie as far as bobby convey can throw him.
