juninho is excellent, wonder if he'd consider joining us?
He's 30 now, and he has played in the CL for Lyon which means he is cup tied. By this time next year he'd be 31...

I'll pass.

Gah working on a report I have to make for Italian class; the assignment consists of a couple of reports/articles that we have to answer questions to.

You know you're in for a rough ride when the first question is as follows:

"Read ONLY the title and subtitle, then answer the following question: What is the main subject of this article, how does the 'trade union' relate to this subject, what is the ideology of this trade union, what was the union's first leader, what is the union's current leader, what was their historically most important achievement, what is their usual strategy?"

45 minutes later and I finally made it to question 1B: "Now read the rest of the article and answer the remaining 43 questions"

:lazy:
Oh man, is that intense. :dazed:

My Italian classes haven't been much more intense than asking what you did last weekend. If you come to SF, Erik, your depth of Italian will surely embarrass me like the three-toothed Italian hillbilly that I currently speak like. :)

jaecole---what's the fascination?

Is it because we Americans are too nice to bash your countries/leaders?

I just don't get it.

When he refers to "Americans" I wonder if he means all of us folks, from the Northern reaches of Canada to the Tierra Del Fuego of Chile and Argentina, or if he he limiting his definition to the people found with the confines of the USA.

I mean this as absolutely no disrespect, OK?

I think the difference is we Americans talk politics with friends/strangers very, very rarely (I'm speaking of the average Joe like me)

We might discuss it with family, sure.

It seems that there it is discussed all the time.

Again, no disrespect intended OK?--I remember visiting Italy when I was younger. We would go down to the local bar with my dad, to play briscola (boy, haven't played that in ages). At first, all they would want to do was talk politics. We let it be known that we really didn't care to; so the conversation turned to better things: family, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, etc.

It seems a bit unfair that because that mindset pervades amongst we Americans here, it becomes fair game to America/administration bash here.

Seems a bit unfair, don't you all think?

Many love Jae and don't care to bash him. I just get tired of his endless anti-American comments when he knows full well that his generalizations don't apply to all and don't even apply to all Americans on this thread.

Exactly.

I have absolutely nothing against him, BTW :)
