PHEEEEEEEEW.... Freaking Vikings, they broke my heart yesterday, i couldn't even watch NFL primetime or Sportscenter last night... but then again a team that loses to four teams all with a 4-12 record doesn't deserve to go to the playoffs.

I've just started to watch NFL for the first time. I quite enjoy the game now that I know some of the rules but I have to watch more games, I've only seen one. It was Carolina - Baltimore and Carolina scored a field goal in the last second or something.

Well, I'm glad that you decided to watch it.

Once you get past the initial reaction that its just a bunch of 300 pound guys crashing into each other, you realize that there is a lot of strategy and play that depends on execution and timing.

 i browse the forums using the Active Threads view, and i was surprised to refresh the page and see all these short-ass thread titles "nhl" "nfl", as well as Lebron... I wasn't surprised, however, to see who'd last replied to these threads :D

    Fli, to answer your question.

The Marlins got hot at the right time, and had good young pitching to carry them over the top, especially Josh Beckett, who was incredible during the series.

They do have some good hitters, like Derek Lee(who just got traded), Mike Lowell, Ivan Rodriguez (free agent), and great speed in the outfield as well with Juan Pierre and Juan Encarnacion.

why dont the best pitchers play all the time? i mean, they play two games in series and then they're off for the next game
Your shoulder and elbow need a lot of rest and treatment between starts, man.

You're throwing that ball 115 times and incredible speeds and movement, if you were to pitch every game, your career wouldn't last one season.

A lot of stress on the arm, Fli. A LOT.

Actually Nick, Vlad, as its just been reported as of today, received an offer from MY BELOVED LOS ANGELES DODGERS:D:D:D.

I'm not sure what the terms are, but from what I understand, one of the reasons that LA may appeal to him is the fact that he want s to go to a city where there is a very large dominican/hispanic community, and LA would be it.

    By the Way,

Basketball- Lakers (fan since Magic wasa a rook back in '80)

Football- 49ers (fan since Joe Montana, STILL the greatest QB of all time)

Anytime you need info on stuff back home, friend, just let me know.

Wow....Habs...and NINERS TOO! I'm a Niners fanatic ..or WAS as well Sergio. I lived in the Bay Area during their back to back conquests. Montana..Rice...Taylor...Craig..Lott...those were the boys..then Young, Jones, Watters, Rice (again!) Stokes, Norton, Stubblefield...ahhh the good old days!
To be honest I barely followed the stats this season besides watching their position and noticing that they beat the Phillies but LOSE to the Cards! Also noticed that Rattay may be a better bet than Garcia. Agree??
I think it was a mistake to get rid of Mariucci ..ok the Owen thing was bad but come on! we also need real kickers ..its seems like!

Your right Joe was the best there is...was ... will be.

Vlad to the Dodgers...I could see that. I assume Gagne has signed a new contract...kid was getting paid the league minimum from what I remember!! Has the Kobe's case affected his game??

Jesus Christ, you're a Niners fan, too?!?!?!?!

I have a hard time watching this squad with Dennis "AA Alum" Erickson at the helm, and possibly the shittiest ownership group in professional sports sinking this frnachise to Titanic like depths.

It was a HUGE mistake letting Mariucci go. He protected Garcia and hid his faults remarkably well. When Erickson came in and said he wanted the offense to be more vertical, I was like "With WHO as our QB??? Garcia? are you ****ing kidding me?"

It looks like they will lose Owens (could care less) and they'll end up putting the franchise tag on him so that he could be traded for some much needed draft picks.

They MUST, and I repeat MUST re-sign Julian Peterson by February 15th so that they don't have to slap the Franchise tag on him. He just made his 1st all-pro team this year, and he's possibly the best all-around LB in the NFL.

And we haven't had a real kicker since Jeff Wilkins left town about 5 years ago.

gagne hasn't been re-signed yet, this whole ownership debacle with fox/ruppert Murdoch is getting worse by the day.

has the case affected Kobe? If anything, the fact that he wasn't able to train properly this off-season affected him more than anything. He's been getting a lot of love from the LA faithful, and he's a fool to try to go somewhere else next year, IMO.

Wow, that's interesting that the Redskins are the one team you don't care about. The Redskins have a stranglehold on Support in the D.C./Virginia area.

It's a great move for them. Joe Gibbs is a class coach, and will restore dignity in the franchise again.
