Well unfortunately Del Piero sucks as a trequartista. The only position that he's competent in other than support striker is attacking left wing, and even when he plays there, he drifts towards the centre and towards the striker(s) as often as possible. As far as I'm concerned DP plays his best football when he's all over the place, and he explores and roams only when he's playing as a forward.
I have always been far from impressed with Dv but because he is not a superstar everyone seems to be on his side like supporting the underdog, lets face it he has been given loads oif chances to prove to everyone especially the Juve heirachy that he is top class but he has not
What exactly has he done actually, Dp had been out for about 6 weeks and he is 1 goal behind Dv who played in all the matches in his absence but who gets the stick.
You can criticise Dp and Trez all you want but at the end of the day they carry more prestige and fear in the eyes of opponents far more than Dv and Miccolli another one who is a superstar for contributing so little
How many goals did this so called Romario-Maradona score for Perugia when he was the heart and soul of that team?
If I was a Milan or Roma fan, I would be praying Juve does indeed sell Dp and Trez and see where they would finish in the league and you can as well forget about Cl
Against Perugia in the cup what exactly did Miccolli and Dv do that there were outshone by Zalayeta, the only one who does not kick up a storm when he is left on the bench, he just comes on gives 100%, does the best his ability takes him to and thats it while the overated subs seem to be kicking up a storm and sulking
I saw Dv did not celebrate his goal against Perugia , why because he thinks he deserves to be the go to guy in a team as big as Juventus
Does he think he would be the first choice striker at Real madrid, Man united, Arsenal, Milan or are we not comparable to such teams
Dv is an excellent understudy, he is not better than that, if he sold to Newcastle, it would be interesting to see if he is a first teamer when Bellamy gets back

Di Vaio isn't a first class player and Treze and DP are, but when he is in top schape and they are sucking he is better than tham. So IMO he schould stay to replace tham when they are injured or sucking. But in case is him who want to go cause is unhappy let's make him go.
But we have to remind that he didn't have so many chance... DP and Treze had so many matches in which they did nothing but still they have theire place while DV was send back to the bench at the first mistake.
The Miccoli situation is different cause he is young and this is his first Juve season, so it was obvious that he needed a while... the gap from Perugia and Juventus is not a joke. Remember Cassano at his first year in Roma? He hardy played... when a player is an investment 4 the future is not important what he is doing ATM cause anycase he is having experiences. I just hope he will not be burned cause I want him to be ouer next numer 10, I trust him a lot

most of what you said is true.. but, remember a couple of months ago, DV was in a great shape pairing with Trez when DP was injured.. he played very well.. But, once DP returned.. he was benched.. Lippi didn't give him the chance to keep up that good work.. when the bench was warm enough.. he called him in.. but, it was too late.. his scoring touch was gone.. and that's all lippi's mistake..
IMHO, we have four great strikers.. let just play the four of them from time to time, otherwise they will rot on the bench.. and they will be useless when you need them..

DV, I think, has fairly done well to fill in the shoes when Alex Del Piero was gone due to an injury he had. But it cannot be avoided, that once Alex Del Piero returns, he will be favoured and DV will be benched.
But if I remember, this season was not similar to last season's, in fact Del Piero, although completely recovered from his injury, was still benched and Di Vaio was still given a chance.
But Del Piero fought back to regain his spot. it's Di Vaio's loss. As long as he continue to impress Lippi and little games that he has I'm sure he'll get the first team spot that he wants. If not, maybe it's best he leaves. Something will pay off for him provided he works hard for it.

You can't blame Lippi. In fact, DV started to lose his form a few matches before DP returned.
DV is a good player but still can't reach the level of DP and Trez -when on form- and if the 2 still do well, the more chance that DV has to be benched. I think it's a waste to bench a player like him. If he has a chance to move to club like Newcastle. why not? I like Newcastle- much more than Arsenal or Liverpool-
