I am thinking more and more that we should sell Canna depending on how much we can fetch him from the open transfer market.
By the time we will be in contention for Champions League, which I think will probably take around 3-4years, then Canna would be on his last legs and won't be much use to the side for long. So we might as sell him now & re-invest that money on young players. I think Barzagli has what it takes to take over the mantle from Canna and become one of the best defender in the world.
So sell Canna when his price is high and get some savvy veteran with Serie B experience and when we do go up we can re-invest the money on Barzagli.
Tudor would be good defender for Serie B and I certainly havent thought about the prospect of playing him. But we will need an defender to cover him given his history of injuries. In this respect, would it be worth spending a million dollar on a player who is only going to play 24games a year in Serie B? Though question, I say. Serie B has many matches and it essential to have enough strenght in depth.
Ideally, it would be great if you can steal Dainelli from Fiorentina, then we probably won't be needing Tudor IMO. I have always been a great fan of him, and I reckon he is the most underappreciated player in Serie A. You can see his professionalism, and quality on the pitch. He is relatively young for the defender so he would be a good player for us if we do get promoted to Serie A.
I wonder whether Viola is willing to let him go for a reasonable price though.
Multiple swap deal involving Tudor, & Dainelli perhaps?
