First practice match
As well as the customary fitness training and ball work, the bianconeri’s Monday afternoon session saw the first of the pre-season’s practice matches, played on half a pitch. The squad were divided into blacks and yellows (the colour of the team’s fetching training bibs) and it was Bojinov who snatched victory for the former with the last kick of the match, latching on to a deft cross from Chiellini. With training over for the day the team enjoyed some well-deserved R & R at the adjacent swimming pool.
Legrottaglie, Piccolo, Volpato and Luci sat out the practice match, conducting their own training sessions away from the rest of the squad. The first three are all recovering from recent surgery for the following injuries: Legrottaglie - hernia, Piccolo – foot tendon, Volpato – knee. Luci, on the other hand, is on the mend after suffering a knee injury with Sassari Torres at the end of last season. Piccolo and Volpato underwent physio this afternoon, while Legrottaglie and Luci worked on their fitness.
