He's better than Molinaro and all those guys can play at LB. If you want a natural left back then you'll be stuck with Zauri. For me a good LB should know how to attack and he can learn how to defend with a good system. When a guy as offensive talent he's always put in a more forward role in his career but that doesn't mean he can't play at the back.
I believe a fullback should already know how to defend, as that's what people have to do when playing in the back four. Like I've said time and time again, I'd rather have a solid defender at the back than someone who can attack, because that makes sure we don't concede silly goals and get caught out.

From what I've seen, Wayne Bridge, besides Abidal, is the player that gives us the most balanced attack and defense for that position, which is what we need. The only reason why Bridge is seemingly a bad player is because Chelsea tossed him around because of Cole and also because of Cole in the national team. He's not far behind Ashley Cole whatsoever. He's 27 right now so he'd give us a good number of years until De Ceglie can (hopefully) take over.

Bridge would be great and Ranieri knows him well but I don't know how much Chelsea would want for him. I guess they want to keep him anyway. Some fans I know watch more blues games than I and say he should start over Cole.

Pessotto was a great example as a stay at home solid defensive LB but I prefer my LB's with great running skills, very good crossing abilities and just know how to play the offside trap and don't screw up on still balls.

We arent getting Bridge, I was just giving an argument as to why we should get him. I think Chelsea would want too much for him, certainly no more Aulus would want for Grosso.

Sorry, but I can't agree. Grosso committed at least 5 fouls that were not called merely by pulling another player's shirt, two of which were in the box. He also tripped someone in the box in the same game, which I think was the Spain match. He was utterly atrocious at the back and was skinned several times; only thing he does well is fool bad referees into thinking he's playing by the books.

Sure, Grosso is great going forward, but I would rather have somebody who is secure at the back. Grosso is not secure at the back. Remember, Cannavaro isn't in the team to save his ass.
I agree there were few clumsy fouls, but still overall his game was solid, yeah more offensively than defensively, but still good.

And he has the expirience of playing against the best in the world.

Played Serie-A,CL,on the NT level played against the best...so i guess he has alot to offer, especially to De Ceglie.

Thats not true, Abidal on form is one of the top fullbacks in Europe, defensively he's a monster, especially in one on one situations where its near impossible to dribble him.
    Exactly.

The only reason why people think Abidal is a bad player is because he's French and plays for Barcelona. Same old crap again.

In that case I've never seen him "on form" and I've seen a lot of Bracelona's matches in the last couple of years.
