This is even less believable. He's the coach. If they can;t qualify it's his responsibility. How the fuck they'll let him walk in that case?

The alleged violation dates back to Mancini days, but it's only known due to football leaks not sooner.
It's not about coaching it's about management or disciplinary scenarios not if they don't qualify for playing like shite

Perhaps it's also to protect City. Because if Pep fails to qualify for CL with his big salary, he will be difficult to sack with his huge compensation.

Yes but it's not termed in the clause as a ban just a list of reasons out if his control which would cause said ban. Shit I would out it in as well knowing the team and the shieks past
It's the same thing dude. Read your own words. It doesn't matter how (clause) is worded. Does any coach have a clause like that? It doesn't make any sense.

We're killing to hire him right now. Do you honestly think he'll be without a job? Clubs will line up for him.

There are all kind of clauses in a contract worth that much. It's been made and crafted by the best lawyers you can think of so that it favors Guardiola in case anything happens. Good or bad.

We really don't know, but there must be a way for Pep to free himself.

Or it will simply be a gentemen's agreement like Ronaldo and Perez.

many great coaches had failed in other clubs. City are paying him 19 milion per year and if he finishes 5th and they want to sack him it will cost them about 70-80 mil if he has 4 years left in the contract.

This release clause sounds like BS, TBH.

Leaving with mutual agreement sounds more plausible.

I never heard about a coach staying against his will at a club, contract or no contract.

This is all we can hope for. There's no way City would agree to a clause like that. They have lawyers too, you know.

There are so many clubs (United being the biggest one that comes to mind, and Barca) that would give away their first born to hire him. When it comes to elite coaches and players this is still a sellers market.

@Ronn knowing that man city has had issues like this for a while even before him if it were you, would you not put that in ?
Who knew? There was no indication. If I'm Pep and I want a clause like that I had to have some indication. Nobody knew anything close to a ban is likely for City. A fine? maybe.
