I understand the argument that he plays a brand of football that is considered appealing to a broader audience. Him improving squads, that's debatable. Especially if that improving happens with a shit ton of money being spent. Also, I think we won't get any more 'neutral' fans than what Ronaldo has got us. Though among coaches Pep is one of the few I would consider a 'brand'. Does Bayern have more fans than they had pre-Pep? Most probably not. Do City have more fans than pre-Pep? Probably yes. But they also play in a league that doesn't seem to stop growing in popularity. My guess is both Liverpool and Spurs have added fans at comparable rates. United seems to be still minting money and adding fans even with their poor record. In conclusion
