Three man midfield and you get a solid player. Two man midfield you'd get dominated against big clubs and you'd lack distribution, forwards would find it hard to receive balls unless they drop deep.

Matic thrives with two quality centre midfielders next to him. Would protect the backline and do the simple things.

One of his best matches in a Chelsea top IMHO. It's three and a half years ago, not the same player anymore, he was 25 and unfortunately age comes to us all, especially to football players who rely on pace and work rate in their early 20s.

Yaya Toure was a powerhouse at that point, Matic went to the Etihad and destroyed him.
What you've forgotten is that he will be partnered with pjanic here. There's a big difference in ball distribution when comparing kante or matic to pjanic. While kante was awesome I think matic is seen as a goat who the team expect more out of. As you said he is good at what he does and chelsea need a different type of player. Tbh I fail to understand how bakayoko will do significantly better in the ball distribution department. You may prosper playing cesc more.

I don't know if there are better available DM with the experience and mentality Matic brings to the table for a reasonable price. I say go all out for him, i actually do like N'zonzi too, but if its between Matic and N'zonzi, then Matic is my choice. Bakayoko would have been great too, I wonder why we never got Diawara when he was still in Bologna, i love the way he plays and would have been the perfect partner to Pjanic.

WOW, this guy seems pretty average even in his supposedly best match. :sergio: From Vidal to Khedira to that?? I do not think he will be an upgrade to our line-up. Frankly I do not think that any of the speculated midfield targets is of Juve quality. Better to look for some younger but more talented player.

You sure it isn't the English football putting you off, they all just blast the ball forward aimlessly :D

for 40 million this would be such a waste of money especially if Marchisio refinds his form and will bench him. I am not convinced with all thr cm's we are linked with honesly especially for the sums mentioned.

I don't think we have a slightest chance of signing him IF Manchester United wants him there.
Chelsea might block the deal. It depends on Matic actually. If he rejects every offer that's there except for MU, then yeah. I don't think he wouldn't want to come here but I very much doubt we'd pay 40m+ for him. If Emre Can is available for 25-30m then he's my bet.
