well your problem is probably related to the use of the software. If the images are 'empty' there are 2 possibilities; either they have been overwritten already (which is improbable because you found them) OR you haven't really restored them. I didn't ever use a software like that, but i could imagine that you have to process the pictures first. So the question is: Where did you find the images and where did you double-click them? If you found them in one of the programs, chances are high that you have to press a button or something first to restore the file or folder first. Don't have any other ideas; make some screenshots or explain more thoroughly what happens, maybe someone can help

It's also impossible to restore anything from the same partition. You need to have either 2 disks or one disk partitioned into two or more parts. Recovered data can't be written on the same partition, you must restore it on another partition or disk.

R-Studio is probably the best software there is for the job. Though in tasks like this, only moderate results are to be expected.

Ok, follow me:

Its important to install the program on different partition from the one you've deleted the file(s).

The process is very simple: File --> Open, select the Drive letter of the drive you want to recover files from and click on the Find Format button.

On the next pop up screen [Select the Sector Range to Search] just click CANCEL !

You don't need that search option, it usually take too much time.

In the right window, the program will display a list with the folders/files that are found and can be recovered. Just right click on the file/folder and select Recover.

note: It will not allow to save recovered file/folder on the same partition where originally resided. Its a measure to prevent overwriting the other files/folders you'd want to recover later.
