Pavel Nedved will be sadly missed, he is a superb player because he is a battler in midfield and he score goals. I can't think of anyone who can replace the European Footballer of the year 2003.

Nedved sets quit date
Friday 8 October, 2004

Pavel Nedved will probably hang up his boots when his present Juventus deal comes to an end.

There was talk that the Czech ace would sign a new contract in Turin but that now seems unlikely.

"My current agreement expires in 2006 and I don’t think that I will renew it," stated the midfield marvel. "I’ll be 34 by then and I think that I will retire from the game."

The former Lazio player is an influential figure at the Stadio Delle Alpi and he was rewarded for his efforts with the 2003 Golden Ball.

So who does he believe should succeed him this year as the European Footballer of the Year?

"There are a host of players who have done enough to deserve the award," explained the Bianconeri ace.

"But my favourite is undoubtedly Milan’s Andriy Shevchenko. If it was up to me then he would get it because I really like him as a player."
OMG!!!!

I'LL HAVE A HEART ATTACK!!!!!!!

whether you like him or not Lilianna, there's no denying that he's a fantastic player that any manager would want in his team

Nedved is probably the guy who mosts deserves to win the Champions' League out of all the world's players. I hope he does this year and the next. It's only fair that he gets that trophy.

what have you got against Sheva? It's not like he's a bastard or arrogant or anything like that... I'm not arguing with your decision not to like him, because that's your opinion... but there's so many more hateable players than Shevchenko

Of course he wil, if Juve were to work hard on winning the CL.

I'm sure every1 of us is 10000000000000000000 times happier when Juve wins the CL than the Serie A championship.

Not me.

Scudetto represents a higher value to me personally.

This doesn't mean that I don't want us to win the CL though.
