Kings ready to make adjustments with Artest
Associated PressSACRAMENTO,

After years with the same core players, Sacramento Kings coach Rick Adelman has grown accustomed to a changing roster.
Following Wednesday's trade of Peja Stojakovic to the Indiana Pacers for Ron Artest, Adelman will be in scramble mode once again trying to assimilate another player into his system.
Adelman was sentimental as he reacted to the deal that sent away one more key member of the Kings. Stojakovic follows Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, Doug Christie and Bobby Jackson out of town.
"Peja is the fourth guy in the last year that we've had to say goodbye to," Adelman said. "This is tough. Peja was with me for seven years and has done a lot of good things for this city and me. The way this thing happened, seemingly he was traded twice. It was difficult."
Despite an off-day Thursday in Boston, there was little time to rest for Adelman and his assistants. The Kings' six-game road trip continues with Friday's game against the Celtics where Artest is expected to make his Sacramento debut.
Plenty of questions need answers. Artest hasn't played since early December and he missed 73 games a year ago following the brawl he ignited in Detroit.
"We'll have a day to see what we're going to do," Adelman said Wednesday after the Knicks game. "How he mixes with everyone, I guess we'll find out. This changes our team dramatically."
Kings co-owner Gavin Maloof, whose family owns the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, admits the trade was a gamble. But he likes the upside should Artest work out.
"You can (usually) only get a player of this caliber by being a last-place team that is in the lottery," Maloof said. "We went into this with our eyes wide open (about his past)."
Artest will have one familiar face in the Kings locker room. He played with Kings center Brad Miller in Chicago and the two were later traded to Indiana together.
"I have three years with him; we went through a lot," Miller said. "You're going to see one of the fiercest competitors; he has a switch he turns on when the game starts. He doesn't back down from anyone."
