This is obviously illegal and unconstitutional, but I assume they know it’s probably gonna happen one way or another.

It's absolutely going to happen. They won't even hold him in contempt now, why would they then? Best we can hope for is Democrats to retake the House next year and grow something of a spine.

that sheet on the bottom: https://t.co/8pVS1pce0c

some interesting results indeed. btw the upon list is an answer to a specific question: [ALL Rs] If the 2028 Republican presidential primary were held today, and Donald Trump was running for a third term, who would you vote for?

and dems need to reinvent themseves:

kyle will murder me for this, but imagine a party where the top3 front runners are two women and a gay dude (who's more qualified than anyone on the gop list and yet to say anything stupid publicly, but still, he's a tough one to sell for 80m people)

i'm not too familiar with all democrat men but the trio i mentioned already (mark kelly, jon ossoff, jason crow) should be on the top10 of this list
I'm going to be really fucking mad if
1. Kamala runs again
2. She's the frontrunner

Are democrats never going to learn from their mistakes? ‘murica is not gonna elect Kamala or AOC. Just isn’t gonna happen.

Look at what the liberal party here in Canada did. Didn’t choose Chrysta Freeland to replace Trudeau. Instead chose a respected 60 year old economist who has been Governor of Bank of Canada and Bank of England in the past couple decades. The Conservatives here were smoking the liberals before he became the new liberal leader for the upcoming election, and now it looks like an easy Liberal majority. The Conservatives have lost the “better for the economy” they rely on and now can only lean into anti-woke culture war grievance politics and that doesn’t work against someone like Carney when what people care most about is the economy, healthcare, retirement pensions, etc. The liberals would have been crushed if they chose Freeland. And the Democrats will find the another 2016 or 2024 if they end up with someone like Kamala or AOC as their nominee.

I think AOC could possibly win. She represents a large population that otherwise typically has no representation and therefore doesn't usually vote. Look at Biden's number's in 2020 as an example when that population was mobilized against Trump, and Kamala's in 2024 when they were not appeased. Of course, would need the right campaign for it though.

It’s possible. But Biden was also a rather well-respected long term centrist politician, liked by independents.

AOC is part of “the squad”, which is one of the more disliked set of politicians in America. That makes it hard pull for independents. And even for some registered democrats more in the centre. It likely depends on who she runs against, but I think it’s pretty unlikely unless she somehow galvanizes a big percentage of non-voters. There’s also new stricter voter ID Laws coming too.

Personally, I think to beat someone like Trump/another populist like him, you need another Centrist that can doesn’t alienate the independents and can be seen as good/better for the economy which is often a hard sell for democrats regardless of reality.

Could be. It's all very hypothetical at this point anyway, and 4 years is a long time (fuck :sigh:). But now, what is a centrist at this point? Status quo regarding healthcare, where my monthly costs are up 16% this year to go against my 2.7% raise? More support for Israel? What's a centrist trade and foreign policy at this point? I can't see the world ever trusting us again, so how can we go back to that system? Can we pretend that we can go back to the same old way of doing things when we're on the verge of a Constitutional Crisis? Trump being retarded domestically is for sure going to have blowback too. Smaller, local races are a good barometer for things to come imo, NYC mayoral democrat primary is this June with ranked-choice voting. The front runners are centrist, scandal-ridden "career politician" Cuomo by a large margin, followed by further left Zohran Mamdani, who knows?

But in the end, we'll probably end up with Cuomo and monied interests will probably win out Federally no matter what, because this is America afterall.

The only way AOC wins is if things get even worse, as in massive depression, civil unrest, or Muricans getting deported or ran over by tanks. All of which could certainly be possible. Unless they cancel elections.
Don't give them any ideas. If we even have an election, of course.

sorry, i still don't think a woman can win elections in murica. not even if she polls well. not even if she's not bland like kamala or not kind of annoying like aoc

it has to be a straight white dude. crow, ossoff, kelly. all 3 are family men too. pick one and hype the shit out of him for the next 3 years

change my mind :boh:

Sounds Jewish. That's like being a woman, or homosexual :D

Other than that, I completely agree with you.
bingo, he is jewish, but that's less unsellable than a black or latino chick, let alone a fag (if buttigieg reads it, sorry pete, that's how the people you'd need to convince see you)

he also comes across as a serious person. twitter is full of his committee hearing clips when he absolutely murdered tulsi & co after signalgate. and he's yet to come out as a netanjahu supporter. in fact he's one of the few jews who already criticized israel's gaza actions before the recent massacres. israelis aren't fans: https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-a-...up-criticism-of-israels-war-on-hamas-in-gaza/
https://www.jpost.com/opinion/article-836469

if i was an anti trump living in murica, with the limited access to information i have, he'd be one of my first picks to run against trump or vance

This is why they are such a mess smh, members here thinking AOC is the answer .

The consideration of it having to be a diverse woman who was a bartender and a waitress at a taqueria, being a lot lizard after hours for coke, is the why they’re a shit now. That little mouse has no chance.

If there is ever a chance I see, is Gavin Newsom running in 2028.

I’d rather simp for a crazy-eyed baddie than slobber on some wrinkly dude’s dick and get a tan spray facial as a bonus.

Dems are gonna help turn ‘murica into a banana republic dictatorship with their regarded love for unlikable characters like Hilary and Kamala :lol2:
Democrats created this monster by showing Bernie the exit door in the primary against Hilary.

The great irony is the guy who should have gone up against Trump in 2016 is the only lifeblood left in the party today.

Yesterday, I went to the local grocery store (Plano, TX) and got tired of winning so much.
It was so absolutely beautiful to see all the prices jacked up. I asked the lady at the counter if the tariffs had kicked in but she didn’t have a clue.
MAGA!!
