Maybe it's best that R-2D2#2 never meets his father.
I’ve been thinking a lot this week how there are people who are great “builders” of things, who are also frustrated with the messiness of humans and want to force them all to conform to the tidy rules of their things. They often tend to be horrible at relationships: horrible parents, absent husbands (or wives), invisible in any true community.
At the opposite end, there are builders of relationships. Often great parents or community members or spouses. These people might build things that better complement these human relationships rather than replace them or force us all to conform to their things. But frequently they lack the personal sacrifices required to be the greatest builders of things in our modern society.
So little room at scale for the middle road.
