- musk pressured the head of faa to resign. that's on day 1, when trump took office. yes, it was a priority because the guy was about to investigate spacex
- next day trump fired the heads of two related offices (transport security, coast guard)
- next day (we're at day 3 only!) a key aviation security advisory committee was disbanded
- day 7: our orange god didn't rest, they froze billions of govt funds, which lasted for like 2 days. they created a completely unnecessary panic within the executive branch
- next day: 2 million federal workers, 10k+ air traffic controllers included, received an email offering them to resign
(and there might be some stuff i don't know about)
they should have known that there are ~3k open air traffic controller positions in the country and they work overtime too. yet within a week, they created chaos, insecurity and even more stress within a profession that requires attention like very few others
and they are blaming it on dei (with the potomac crash, all involved were white straight males, despite all the effort of the right wing media to blame it on a trans military pilot, who's still well and alive so obviously couldn't drive the chopper when the tragedy happened lol) and biden
bottom line is that not all governmental employees are useless. and a country cannot be run like a business for way too many reasons. you can't fire 50% of the staff on day 1 like that imbecile elon did with twitter and not face consequences.
edit: i had like 5 phone calls during typing this post so sorry if it's not fully consistent. bjerknes also gave a shorter, more on point answer in the meantime
