What religion do you think is most prevalent in Belgium? I call the Christian God a cunt, yes. Because he clearly, very clearly, is. In fact, if he was human, we'd call him a sadistic monster. Yet somehow you think this is the guy we should believe in. Incredible.

Oh and btw, as for laws and society being much different back then. That's really only true up to an extent. Half of Europe still uses Roman law. You remember when Christ was born, right?
Latvians have many great hockey players, that doesn't mean I know how to skate. and you should stop thinking you're in a position to judge God, that's again a very arrogant position to take.

Why? Why should I stop thinking that I am in the position to judge one of the Gods that is being written about in one of the many books written about Gods. Surely I get to investigate all the possible gods? This particular God is childish, spiteful and horribly sadistic. Allow me to say that I do not much like this particular god.

Have they made any progress in this realm in the last thousand years? Philosophers also spend their lives on understanding these questions and don't need to invoke supernatural beings to do so.
"You can't judge God" is their crown achievement. It's the solution to every problem, and response to every argument.

God created us people with free will and we made some shitty choices. You never read the Bible?
What if Lucifer is actually the good guy, and the bible is what lead you astray?

When Lucifer got sick of God's "Everyone worship me or I'll fcking smite you" attitude and decided to leave with his other angelic mates, perhaps he was the "Bigger man" and thought it was more mature not to bash God, but to walk away.

But then God had to get his little pets to spread the word that Lucifer (The Lightbearning angel - enLIGHTenment, perhaps?) was a bad, evil angel!

Perhaps you are wrong.. perhaps the Devil really IS the good guy. He allows you to live your life freely, without smiting you. Sure, take drugs and have sex. Lucifer doesn't mind. It's only natural to procreate and have fun. Apparently God put the weed on earth anyway. Lucifer won't threaten to punish you forever - that's what GOD said he would do.

At least with the DEVIL, you LIVED your life to the fullest. Whereas with GOD, you are nothing more than a pet; a DOG.

so basically your problem with God is that you think you're not allowed to smoke weed and take drugs? and you decided to side with the devil, so you can do that, which allows you to live your life to the fullest? good for you :D though I've heard myths that some famous musicians or painters made a deal with the devil and got a bit better deal than permission to smoke, snort and needle yourself :p

But @pitbull wants to be a good boy so bad.
That's funny considering that, in comparison to god, Lucifer is a shinning star. Lucifer has killed in the bible a maximum of about 10 people, while god... He's a fucking nut case, he commits genocide among the many. He nearly wipes out all of humanity. He killed his son- whom also is himself. And that's almost a countless list. Lucifer accepts all of "god's unwanted children" unconditionally. God doesn't like his children, only the ones who worship him exactly the way he wishes. Lucifer tried to give food to a starving man in the dessert for 40 days. Honestly, if they didn't have names yet, anyone with half a brain and morality would say Lucifer is the good guy, and God isn't.

No need to convince me. I think God's a massive cunt.

Nah, you're just asking the wrong questions. Since you're not an atheist, you can imagine for a minute that God is real, right? There are ~7.5 billion people living right now and no idea how many have lived in the entire history before us and how many will after us. Take into account the whole universe we've little idea about, but we know that we're only a very very small part of.

Don't you think it's silly of you, a tiny person in the grand scheme of things, to try and attempt to judge Gods fairness, while knowing that you can understand probably less than 0.01% of his creation or how he operates? I won't be able to answer your every existential question, I don't think any man has all the answers. To quote Isiah (and I acknowledge that too many have done this :D), For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways
I don't think it's silly of me to ask questions and try to reason about the existence and/or nature of God, rather than just accept what has been passed down to me as tradition.

I mean, why should you or I accept this one god out of all the thousands of gods that have existed? Or any god?

Anyway, this is a dead horse that's been beaten so many times already. I'll save us the time and the typing: yes, blind faith is the answer and logic isn't required for belief in the Biblical God :D

You can and should question, but be aware of your own limitations. I dont consider my faith blind, don't know any Christians who feel that way. But of course faith needs a leap, yeah.
