The funniest thing in all this is:

Acting assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, held anews conference. One of the most intriguing exchanges went as follows:

QUESTION:And one other question. Do you regard those portions of East Jerusalem that were occupied by Israel in 1967 as occupied territory?

AMBASSADOR SATTERFIELD:The decision of the President is to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel. The President has stated that that decision does not touch upon issues of boundaries, of sovereignty, or geographic borders. Full stop.

QUESTION:So it is still occupied territory, in your view?

AMBASSADOR SATTERFIELD:I have stated what the President’s decision does and does not do.

QUESTION:What is the current policy of the U.S. administration towards Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem?

AMBASSADOR SATTERFIELD:As—this decision had no impact on any issue other than the recognition or acknowledgment of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Yes, the only country in the world that there were more jews after the war then before it.

They hold annual ceremonies to thank us for that.

And a jewish lobbyist published a book where amongst many things mentioned that they lobbied for Kosovo's independence as they felt they owed that to Albanians.

Irony is that they don't recognize our independence yet because of their problem with Palestine.

Saying this, I don't agree with many things they do there, civilians should not be touched no matter what.
There is no other nation that helped Jews in history more than Turks. They repaid in a most despicable way. If you think that they have loyalty for anyone but themselves, you are sorely mistaken.

I don't expect anything from neither side TBH.

And they have no interest whatsoever in this region eitherway.

The 51 Republicans in the Senate are just as bad as Trump. They are beholden to their corporate owners alone.
Many Democrats are just as bad. It's a real problem, but holy shit has the Republican party really lowered the bar to ridiculous levels recently.

Phew, forgot how much hatred/anger is in this thread.
Shouldn't there be though?

I think its symptomatic of a do anything to win re election culture and what the people want is increasingly stupid and their votes are swayed on 1 or 2 hot button issues that frequently don't even have the most significant impact on the quality of their lives but garner the most retweets

Oh I thought you meant at just the current situation we find ourselves in with this administration.
I'm talking about in general Tuzzer's views of us :D

I'm too busy living the dream to get annoyed at much anymore. I'm really not one to be depressed over anything but watching the news literally drains me.

Havent had time to follow all the newest Trumps idiocies, but I have to say I liked his Christmas speech, don't think that nowadays there're many presidents around able to publicly say "Lord Jesus Christ" even if most of them count themselves a "Christians"
