I've never really understood hiring a maid tbh. Do you people who need maids generate a big mess or something? Is it really that hard to clean up after yourself or cook that you need to pay someone else to do it?

Beyond the money I wouldn't want someone i barely know in my house every week going through my shit. Even if they are trustworthy the idea makes me uncomfortable.

:agree:
If I had the money I would hire a cook tbh. I hate cooking

Don't understand it either.

I'd understand it if we were talking about a family with 4 kids, with both parents working a full time job.
Could think of better ways to spend €300 a month, but it's not my money and everyone is free to spend it on whatever he wants.

Are Europeans lazier than Americans?
From personal experience, yeah. Completely different cultural workstyles. Takes months to get a report from them sometimes. Not to mention siestas being an acceptable thing.

Maybe lazy is the wrong term. But they just don’t care that much.

We drink more, that's why we don't care.

It's a cultural thing as you said before.

Almost no one needs a maid but they make your life easier and way more comfortable. They cook, they clean, they iron your clothes. What's not to like? They even clean up your dogs' poo.

Not only immigrants, we also get something in return, like proper healthcare for example.
I get proper healthcare but only through my job. If you work part time you're fucked tho, we definitely need to offer universal healthcare, I couldn't agree more with that.
