At this point they know they made the wrong choice.
If your president is hiding documents, because they implicate him in the biggest pedophilia scandal of all time and he's supporting a genocidal regime in the Middle East while accepting bribes from emirs and using tariffs for his own personal gain with no thought whatsoever about the financial consequences for the inhabitants of the country, you kind of know you fucked up.
If at this point you still persist and you can't hold up your hand and say 'look, I was wrong, I'm sorry, I fucked up' I don't know what it takes. How the fuck are so many Americans (and non-Americans in the case of fatneck) okay with this?

Christian Americans are apocalypse accelerationists. They see anything they can do to advance the second coming of Christ, The Rapture, as a mission from God. So they want to populate Israel with red hiefers and similar demented crap like that to fulfill a biblical prophecy.
Meanwhile, the Israelis aren't stupid. They know the American Christian "love" for Israel only goes as far as condemning all the Jews to hell and bringing about the end of the world via The Rapture. So they know that to the American Christians, Israel is just a means to an ends. An ends that has no place for Jews.
But to the extent that Israel can lead around the Christian American whack jobs to do their bidding to fulfill biblical prophecies, they too are useful tools.
So it's a toxic love affair of convenience that only ends in death for both.
