Because he understands how dangerous Trump is. I call that foresightedness. His principles haven't changed, everybody knows that, but if he believes that Trump is ultimately more dangerous than Hillary and that a Trump presidency is more detrimental to what Sanders' principles are about, his endorsing of Hillary not only makes sense but is also an indicator of his political intelligence.

And we know why he does that unless we deliberately want to not understand. I love Bernie and I admire his consistency and courage. He changed the political discourse during these elections and forced both Trump and Hillary to at least pretend that they also follow what he says. I'm happy he endorsed Hillary as much as I hate this woman, and I hope his fans are sane enough to listen to what he has to say.

I'm sure he was considering that but at this point running as an independent would only mean Trump's win.
What becomes of his "revolution" now? All down the drain. It's best he never ran for the position now. He could have used the platform to make some sort of statement that he will continue to fight for change, while condemning Trump. But now he's lost all credibility and everything he said before means nothing.

I don't think many of them will vote for Trump but many of them will probably not participate/vote for Stein. Also, one should be ashamed to call themselves a Bernie fan and vote for Trump. I have yet to meet an intelligent/decent person who'd support Trump.
Hillary's game is known, and she can't deviate dramatically from the party's policies (which i btw prefer to the republican party's policies), you know she will not ruin everything. With Trump in the race, I'd gladly take status quo over a world of uncertainty in the hands of a childish narcissistic fascist.

Bernie has said that he'll support Hillary over Trump for months, and to anyone familiar with his program & principles know that Trump is a far greater threat to his idea of how the US should look like than Hillary.

Also, that New Yorker article about Trump's ghostwriter is great.
No, it's not. As aggressive as she might come across, it is always still reasonable to some extent. Trump is just as bad if not worse and says and does stupid shit in the heat of the moment.
Honestly your entire presidential race looks like Homer Simpson v. Ray Patterson running for Sanitation Commissioner.
