People can't blame Melania for this. The fact that his campaign plagirized the First Lady's speech in 2008, and knew about it, is disgraceful. It's not her job to fact check. If the speech writer is not fired, then it is obvious that whomever wrote the speech is in Trump's trusted inner circle.

Forget about Trump the candidate, but Trump the man needs to stand up for his wife and accept responsibility for this.
The speech is not important and nobody takes Melania seriously anyway, but it says something about Trump and his campaign. They don't even try to pretend, they could have stolen an older speech, something people would have less memory of, i don't know, some parts of this speech some parts of another, but they don't give a damn.

Considering I didn't really agree with the last one I doubt it.

But I do enjoy the amount of surprise today regarding her speech when I doubt as much anger was cast when Biden or Obama had similar speeches to others.
Doesn't matter whether you agreed or not, i'm talking about your justification of something that is just plain stupid and is surely not worth your defense.

I wasn't here to know about Obama and Biden's speeches, can you share any link to those speeches?

It says a lot about his campaign and the people running it.

You don't put your spouse in the line of fire. This is what happened here.

Why would they? Biden has done it and he became the vice-president. Apparently no one on that side of the isle gave a damn either.

This stuff happens all the time. I agree, whoever here speech writer(s) is/are should probably be fired even if it wasn't intentional someone should have caught this.

Why do you even engage in such a kindergarten-discussion with him?

It's just immature and stupid to bring up Obama and Biden in a 'he started it'-argument.

No self respecting campaign should ever put the nominee's spouse in the firing line like that.

Then again, this is the best we can do after 8 years, so I guess nothing is sacred

Waiting to happen?

I can't even imagine what it would be like when it finally does happen
Is that a prediction? :snoop:

Running for POTUS puts everyone in your family in the line of fire. Literally, everything that comes out of their mouths will fall into the line of fire. Same goes for the current POTUS and past ones, they are no different.

That Del Neriesque argument that it's not like we always win the coppa aside, i was genuinely interested in previous similar instances. They are not similar though, but still.

This is where 'big government/state' prevail. Administration, diplomats and civil servants will keep Trump in check as well as the two houses.
He'll get impeached for sure.

Hillary scares me more, she seems to want war with Russia. I'd rather have a clown as US president than WW3.

Trump is a clown but he's potentially less dangerous than the psycopathic bitch. Being president will stroke his narcissistic ego and he'll perhaps build his wall and that will make him happy. He won't be able to do much in any case.

There is a difference between being in the line of fire if it is your OWN DOING.

This was a major misstep by whomever in that campaign is responsible. ESPECIALLY when Donald Trump told everyone in his campaign that she is to be protected.

This is just absurd. When emotions meet post-factual society. Paranoia much?

Hillary have fucked up and she's an arrogant establisment-darling with a [too big og] big believe in solving foreign policy-problems thru military intervention.

But as a technocrat and politician, she is more competent than most. Might not agree with her. Fair enough. Take that debate. But to even slightly suggest she is seeking a military confrontation with Russia is just plain absurd.

Holy moly. Go out and get laid, and leave the paranoia internet-reality you live in behind.

Jesus (in a non holy way, since I'm an atheist)
