Windows Movie Maker is the MS Paint of the video world. And what exactly do you mean by faster?

nah - that can't be true. Adobe Premiere Pro is great, some friends of mine use Avid Xpress DV though I don't have any experience with it. But if you just want to cut some scenes then Windows Movie Maker 2 might be a good choice. It makes no sense to use a sledge-hammer to crack the movie-nut
