best sketch imo is "upper class twit of the year show" - absolutely brilliant, though as Geof said "how not to be seen" was pretty awesome too. The best film has to be the holy grail though - its a laugh a minute from start to finish - funniest feature length I've ever seen and probably ever will.

It has been too long sice I saw the holy grail. I've seen The life Of Brian recently and god, the Biggus dickus scene is wonderful. The face of these soldiers, trying not to laugh...
And then he goes He's got a wife too, her name's Incontinentia   :dielaugh:

I love the beginning of The Meaning of Life with the accountants fighting the corporate businesses. They go into the city trying to be sneaky when there's this huge building travelling down the middle of the road. Oh the brilliance! :D

It's good, but not my favourite from that one. I really love the scene where Brian joins the revolution:
"Right. You're in. Listen. The only people we hate more than the Romans are the ****ing Judean People's Front."
Then there's the Roman's go home sketch, and the "What have the Romans ever done for us" scene. It's all classic. So many bits of it are known by everyone - regardless of whether or not they've ever seen the Pythons. Just start humming "Alway look on the bright side of life" on a bus... :)

watched the life of brian on sunday and the holy grail yesterday.
hilarious though i was a bit disappointed after hearing so much about them i expected something extraordinary.
Thing is, there are very few comedies produced that long ago which still manage to entertain audiences to this day... pure genius, some Monty Python stuff :touched:

Dennis: What I object is to you automatically treat me like an inferior.
    Arthur: Well, I am king.
Dennis: Oh, king, eh - very nice. And how'd you get that, then? By exploiting the workers! By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society. If there's ever going to be any progress...
    .........
    Arthur: Bloody peasant!
Dennis: Oh, what a give-away. Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about. Did you see him repressing me? You saw it, didn't you?
I would quote the rest of that scene, but it's too long :stress:
Centurion:You know the penalty laid down by Roman law for harboring a known criminal?
    Matthias: No.
    Centurion: Crucifixion!
    Matthias: Oh.
    Centurion: Nasty, eh?
    Matthias: Could be worse.
Centurion: What you mean "Could be worse"?
Matthias: Well, you could be stabbed.
Centurion: Stabbed? Takes a second. Crucifixion lasts hours. It's a slow, horrible death.
Matthias: Well, at least it gets you out in the open air.
    Centurion: You're weird!
The "Jehovah" scene with the stonings was a classic too :howler:
