Why San Lorenzo though...Montero has said that he wants to end his career in Urugay.IMO if he wants to leave we let him and not drag it out by loaning him and then getting him back and unneccesarily prolong his suffering here.
"Urugay" just sounds weird :wth: ;)

Good luck Montero. You were one of my favs despite the red cards

Montero joins San Lorenzo
Thursday 4 August, 2005
Paolo Iglesias Montero has left Italian football after the stopper joined Argentine side San Lorenzo.

The Uruguayan has spent the last 13 years in the peninsula during spells at Atalanta and then Juventus.

Montero has joined the outfit on a free transfer after his contract at Juventus expired, nine years following his arrival.

"I thank Italy for all that it has given me," explained the 33-year-old. "After such a splendid experience, I will return to play in South America.

"This is something that I have wanted to do for some time and that is why I refused offers from a number of European clubs."

Montero, the most sent-off player in Serie A history , has signed a one-year contract with his new side.

In other transfer news, Siena defender Simone Barone, who spent last term on loan at Napoli, has joined Verona.

Perugia defender Mauro Milanese has left the club after agreeing a one-year contract with Queens Park Rangers.

Well, yesterday was Montero's debut with San Lorenzo

I was able to watch the game, San Lorenzo tie their game against Independiente 1-1, with San Lorenzo end up playing with 9 men, and no, Montero wasn't one of the players that got the red card :D

I watch the game, and let me tell you, I almost cry, Montero played superb!!! he show class and strong defending.

After the game, the San Lorenzo fans were chanting:

"Uuuuruuguaaayooo, Uruguaaayoooo"

The media said aftyer the game, that Montero was one of the best players on the pitch and guide with experience the defence when they were left with 9 men.

His coach also have some nice words for Montero, saying that theres a diference in the defence now that Montero is playing.

It was very cool to see the fans of San Lorenzo chanting for Montero and cheering him, seems that with only one game he has become one of the fans favorite...

Im very happy for Montero :)
