Poulsen is interesting because i reckon he would be the more suitable partner for marchisio more so than momo and melo.

yeah but we only loaned out pepe with the option to buy, but then again, with what we paid for martinez, possibly a player we didnt need, we could have got candreva who could have been more useful across various areas in midfield.

We actually do need Martinez since we are playing a 4-4-2, we need wingers wether they are bench players or starters, you never know when Injuries come up.
4-4-2 is a formation that is very difficult to move players around in, especially since Del Neri wants to play strikers such as Trezeguet and Amauri who depend on crosses + we wouldn't want Del Neri to change tactics and formations when he's out of wingers since we have a thing for injuries.

I agree on keeping Candreva though, too bad, he was fantastic.

yes we need wingers but we are not short of them...it is not like Martinez is any better than what we have available for that left side...Giovinco is better in my opinion, pepe can play both sides, de ceglie looks very capable when playing that LW role without all the defensive duties. Some younger players could be options in Pasquato and even Iago.

Candreva on the other hand is more versitile and could of maybe been an alternative to marchisio or even in an advanced role.

problem we have is that recent history shows that momo and marchisio tend to get injured a lot, so we need quality back up. With names like Ekdal going to bologna, Marrone still being young, and no one being rumoured to join that plays central, i think bnoth melo and poulsen will be kept at the club.
