It remains 100% Paratici'S fault, because he has failed to extend the contract of our most promising asset, if he was taking the club from Marotta's hands this June, then yes, we could say that all he could do was to cut our loses.
This should be his highest priority and make the extension at all cost. He had plenty of time for that and he obviously has failed!!
It doesn't matter if he underestimated Kean's value, or Raiola's greediness.
We made a 60-70mil capital loss here from this sell out and lost Cr7's heir that was readily available, we will be forced to massively invest in the very near future in order to replace this loss and chances are that we will pay more for less, as always.
This transfer alone is reason alone to quit football and Agnelii takes full responsibility if this won't happen as soon as the transfer window closes!

Ridiculous price

When we brought Alex Sandro wasn't he going into the last year of his contract, we had to pay in the mid 20's for him and that was before prices went crazy.

One day we might know how to sell a player like every other club

He wants to play? Why can't he play here? He scored every time he touched the field. Rotate him with another striker.

This is very disappointing. Of course, there's risk with a 19 year old but he did his best to check all the boxes to make you actually trust him. It's not like we have Batistuta ahead of him...

Bit late now, but that was clearly the idea. However, if Raiola is pushing him somewhere else to be a starter then we know it's a battle we were never going to win.

No one is going to pay 60-65m for a 19 year old striker with an expiring contract.

The other thing is, where are all these teams falling over each other to pay such a paltry fee? Either few teams were interested, or the teams interested were not going to play him as a starter. For me, and reading the words he said, this was all about him playing regular football.
We can’t just blame Raiola for everything. Could have easily given him a new contract and also loaned him. This was all about the gains.

I really hoped he would renew and stay here for many years.

Or at least have a buy back option. :sigh:

Still think this is part of the MdL deal with Raiola. He gets what he wants.

Exactly. He couldn't get at least 1800-2000 minutes here? At the bare minimum? He would have played against nearly every mid table and minnow team for us, played in the Coppa Italia, and some of the group stages in the Champions League.

And as far as this expiring contract nonsense. Everyone has known about it for at least a year.

This would make perfect sense if Paratici had not been a part of this organization for the past 8 years. But, you know. He has been. Which makes this even more maddening.

how did we allow him to end up with 1 year left on his contract in the first place? We made no attempt to renew the previous summer?

Cause then this shit happens and we have to sell or risk losing on a free

Unless we use the gain to purchase someone like Pogba, Eriksen, or Isco, I can’t agree with this deal. I would be against selling him for any amount right now, but instead they sell him for basically nothing in today’s market. I don’t get it.

Then give him a new contract.
Yes, hold him at gunpoint. The logic :sergio:

We evaluated he isnt that big of a talent to fork out serious money on his salary. Id agree, because he didnt seem anything special. Time will tell.

i very seriously doubt this about us not belieivng he has talent. imo kean likely does not want to renew and we stupidly let him get this close to expiration.

If kean wants to leave then fine but he should've come into last season with a contract renewal.
