$300 ?! That's heaps man! Nothing in Thailand should cost $300! We stayed in pretty decent accomodation and it cost IIRC like $10 a night

I went to Bangkok first, then we stayed in Chiang Mai for a couple of weeks, then back down to Bangkok and all the way down to Krabi (near Phuket)
