thats what i meant was the league played on astroturf? thats what i thought the difference between the 2 leagues were but even wikipedia didn't really explain the difference
No, it depends on the team more than anything. I don't think there's a rule about it. I remember Landon and the Galaxy bitching one time because they didn't play on grass.

Not enough teams. Teams from the NASL would go bankrupt as would the MLS for trying to keep both leagues afloat. Same reason we don't have a traditional transfer system.
Remember we don't have football clubs in every town.
It's hard to tell. NASL is interesting. It's not the level of the MLS but occasionally you'll get teams that qualify for the Copa. They're definitely third to fourth tier. But they do have a developmental league.
dk tho. I'm guessing the quality is NASL is way lower.
