There has gotta be a way to find these players before they cost 38m though. Esp the ones in Eastern Europe. Seems like Outlet Mall shopping over there. Can get literally everything you want there and costs half as much as the normal mall. Why don't shop there more often?
Not many players from the region make it to the absolute top level. I allways wanted Rakitic tho, since he was 18.

Right now best talents are Ante Coric and Andrija Zivkovic. Will be interesting to see if they can hack it at biggiest level and not fall short as many other Balkans do.

Who said I am upset?
We get Vidal cheap, Pogba Pirlo free. Barza basically free and Khedira free. We have Rugani coming through the system and own options on every young Italian it seems. Just weird why you are concerned why we arent spending more time in that area as if its some gold mine. How many players come out of there and dont need further development? Not many

I'm not even concerned. I'm looking at it as an opportunity. :D

There is too much chatter for there not to be something in this one, but I'm skeptical as to how interested we really are in Pjanic. He seems like the alternative to André Gomes, who we obviously want to mold into another star in the way we did other young players. Hopefully we don't end up looking at a 3rd choice because of our financial restraint going for the Portuguese.

I can see why the management is perhaps more inclined towards closing Gomes as a mid option ahead of someone like Pjanic. The method to the madness also relates to the fact that they're aware we never really replaced Arturo post his sale. And for me, and perhaps them, its not as much about a Cheesio back up as it is about adding another dimension to our CM setup. Gomes is that kind of player that does that.

I really don't see how André Gomes is the first choice here. Id never heard of him before our interest and Pjanic is one of the absolute best playmakers in the game. I think €36m is a steal for Pjanic - he'll become a top 5 playmaker in the world with us (if he isn't already!)

Our possession football with this guy will rock everyone bar Barca and Bayern.

good now think about the next 4months of Serie A/Champions league playing Lemina or Hernanes as playmaker.
GO DUDE THINK ABOUT IT!

First Pjanic. then try whatever they wish for Andrè Gomes.
Gomes is liability while Pjanic is necessity.

Lemina has done well as a CDM when supported rightly. On the right side his game decreases a lot. But as a Marchisio backup I'd take him in an instant. He has barely adapted as well, remember he was injured for almost the complete season. The kid has the goods, that much is clear and he can only improve when given the chance.

And while I like Pjanic, he's not the type of player to boost our game when everyone is fit. While Gomes is exactly that.

Pjanic at 38 is a no brainier and should be completed immediately. He is the perfect player to elevate our game, providing the creativity we lost when Pirlo left. Our midfield would basically be complete after that.

Exactly. And I think that Marotta/ Paratici can get him from Roma for less then 38 m, even that sum is at least normal, not to say cheap in todays market. That's why we have to act quickly.

In today's marketplace, €38m is par for International class footballers. Tbh, I'd be surprised if Pjanic was not worth somewhere in the region of €45m to €55m ins free market situation were it not for the buyout clause that exists.

He is undoubtedly one of the best three CM/AM's playing in Italy and given his experience in Serie A, he would be my choice over Andre Gomes, especially if the price demanded by the Spaniards is north of €50m.

Whatever, either would be an obvious strengthening of our creative midfield options. Gomes, and I have to say I've only seen a dozen or so Valencia matches this season, is certainly more of a B2B player with tracking back always when his team is not in possession, but is also unafraid of penetrating runs through defences with the ball and the capability of accurate passing.

I fully expect the club to be in full on action mode as from tomorrow as the key Morata and Cuadrado talks commence with Real Madrid and Chelsea respectively. Either of those deals may even produce the possibility of an exchange deal with Isco and Oscar respectively - or even Matic. Neither of those two midfield players however would be as welcome though as Pjanic or Gomes.
