In today's marketplace, €38m is par for International class footballers. Tbh, I'd be surprised if Pjanic was not worth somewhere in the region of €45m to €55m ins free market situation were it not for the buyout clause that exists.
He is undoubtedly one of the best three CM/AM's playing in Italy and given his experience in Serie A, he would be my choice over Andre Gomes, especially if the price demanded by the Spaniards is north of €50m.
Whatever, either would be an obvious strengthening of our creative midfield options. Gomes, and I have to say I've only seen a dozen or so Valencia matches this season, is certainly more of a B2B player with tracking back always when his team is not in possession, but is also unafraid of penetrating runs through defences with the ball and the capability of accurate passing.
I fully expect the club to be in full on action mode as from tomorrow as the key Morata and Cuadrado talks commence with Real Madrid and Chelsea respectively. Either of those deals may even produce the possibility of an exchange deal with Isco and Oscar respectively - or even Matic. Neither of those two midfield players however would be as welcome though as Pjanic or Gomes.
