Play with Marchisio and very athletic b2b Lemina is something that should be tried hopefully, to make him come out of his pussy shell and be exposed less. Hernanes is slow and inept and Khedira is slow and just completely out of form, tries to attack too much, it's essentially two players that are really not suitable for someone like Pjanic.

But if Pjanic has complete pussy performance like this more regularly then he should be the one to be considered to be benched then Khedira (if Sami ever gets out of the rut).

He needs to realize quickly he is at a big club...

Yeah I'd really like us to play Lemina more often now that Marchisio is back.

I can understand not wanting to play Lemina & Hernanes together though.

I'm running out of excuses for him. He needs to step up; at Roma he had naing but here he doesn't really have a fighter behind him. I'll use that excuse for now.

Both him and sami are making hernanes seem like the better player. It's a sad situation we are having in the midfield, something from a drama where they are all lost. Not here or there. I'm just glad marchisio is back.

Lemina is doing his time because of that red card. Thankfully Marchisio is almost back so we should see less of hernane

While I think a big factor in his performance tonight was fatigue (this was his 3rd match starting in 7 days), his form is really worrying. I don't think anyone expected him to be a Vidal-level midfield dynamo, but he's having trouble making simple passes and combining plays with his other midfielders and the left back. Even his first touch is often poor, which is compounded by the fact that he is easily muscled off the ball and can't win challenges. He wants to ping precision long-balls towards the forwards, but his inability to impose control on the midfield means they are either offside or it's easily cut out or intercepted.

Obviously with Marchisio next to him tidying things up he will look better, and I think he will sort it out once he gets more comfortable with our tactics and where his teammates are going to be, but so far he has been a huge liability in defense and has offered little in terms of ball control.

For anyone who's expecting a Pogba type performance aka someone who holds on to the ball or carry/run it forward , you will remain disappointed simply because that is not Pjanic style. One touch quick passing then this is your dude. But right now neither the midfield is clicking nor we have clear plan upfront. So at most he can impact the game with a freekick or a pass behind defence as of now.

With Marchisio and Dybala back we should overall get some better plays and performances of him.

Nah, tonight the game was more important which enhances that pattern.
I disagree. Everything he did tonight was bad. In previous games at least he had some good passes and occasionally scored a goal. He needs to step it up big time.

He needs to get involved a lot more, if he wants to become really great. And he can't hide when our midfield looks fragile like this. Everyone notices it.
There's a bit of adjusting on his part too for sure. Even though Max is trying to up the pace of our general build up , we don't play end to end like Roma or Napoli, so when we are pushing the position in their half as the main creative force he gotta be a little patient at times and don't have to release it quick to nearest teammate each time play comes to his side.

I'd like to see Lemina-Marchisio-Pjanic or Khedira-Marchisio-Lemina against teams that press hard like Napoli. A little more physicality and ball-winning ability in the midfield. Khedira-Hernanes-Pjanic is just incredibly slow and soft.

We should have a 4 man rotation in mid for big matches, Marchisio between 2 of Khedira, Lemina, Pjanic dependent on who is in form and the style of play of the opponent. I really think we'd see much better from both Khedira and Pjanic playing with Lemina as a B2B and Marchisio as regista. It's a much better balance.
