ITALY/ JUVENTUS, Transfer market update
Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri has told reporters : "I count on Vincenzo Iaquinta and Felipe Melo. They are not for sale and I am waiting for them to recover from injury. They both are key men in my team ..... I am pleased with Diego, he is performing well as a forward during our recent pre-season games. That is going to be his role this year, I do not see him as a playmaker behind two strikers".
Notes :
- Only the following Juventus players are officially for sale : Fabio Grosso, Zdenek Grygera, Jonathan Zebina, Mauro Camoranesi, Hasan Salihamidzic, Christian Poulsen, Tiago, Albin Ekdal and Sebastian Giovinco.
- Juventus officials are still in the market and are planning to sign at least a right-back, a left-back, a central defender, a winger and a playmaker. The main targets and options are : Andrea Barzagli (Wolfsburg), Diego Lugano (Fenerbahce), Royston Drenthe (Real Madrid), Milos Krasic (CSKA Moscow), Giuseppe Sculli (Genoa) and Andrea Poli (Sampdoria).
- The recently reported chase for defenders Paolo Cannavaro (Napoli) and Cesare Bovo (Palermo), midfielder Angelo Palombo (Sampdoria) as well as strikers Diego Forlan (Atletico Madrid), Giampaolo Pazzini (Sampdoria) and Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg) is on stand-by for the time being.
