Marotta, please give them the money and move on to your next target. This is Juventus, not Sampdoria, we can afford giving them the extra 1.5-2 million they need.

No, you see, the "political" agenda of a newspaper is one thing, but that doesn't mean that even the articles about the weather in the newspaper will be politically colored.

Gazzetta still sells more than all the other Italian sport newspapers together, and out of Italy it sells 10 times more than all the others. That's because it's a quality newspaper, even though as Juve fans we have every right to hate them for what they were doing in 2006.

In my experience with all the Italian newspapers I noticed that when it's about transfers, Gazzetta are not only more professional, but they are also more reliable. I think it's because they already sell a lot and they don't have to publish spectacular transfer rumors in order to get more byers. I'm guessing that they have much better informers in higher position in every single club, and also among player agents. Also, they don't rush to publish every rumor and they do it only if it's confirmed by more than one source or by an authority in the subject.

Of course, this doesn't make every transfer news they publish true, far from it actually, but I learned to trust Gazzetta more than CdS, Tuttosport and the rest.
Don't confuse my dislike for them with my judgment being clouded. I have read this paper for a long time and some of the transfer stories they print about us are downright disgusting and laughable. Tuttosport may be a ludicrous paper in terms of transfer stories but then it doesn't disguise itself as otherwise, and redresses the balance given out by its rivals' large market share. As if you didn't prove the point, people take this paper as very reliable, so when they throw out the nonsense transfer stories mixed in with their detailed articles from respected sports journalists it gives an ounce of truth to them. To be honest I don't take any of the main sports dailies as credible sources, even if GdS has a more professional approach.

If I want to read about general sport then I would read GdS because it has depth in that area, but they will never break away from their allegiance to Milan even if they have to acknowledge that Juve fans account for a large target audience. By the way, a paper selling well does not mean it is good, it just means it appeals to people, look at the two biggest selling tabloids in the UK. Trash.

True.

I really hate the bold part. But just like you I read this paper and occasionally read the other sports newspapers in Italy and as a calcio follower i realized that this paper is (much) better than the rest. It has many flaws and you mentioned some, but it's better and usually more reliable. I think that also contributes to GdS selling more than the rest.

Definitely better than it's main competitors, but I suppose with the internet we can look around many places to build up a better picture of what is genuinely happening, which goes back to my original point about lack of coverage to the deal 'stalling'. When I see goal and tribalfootball followed by GdS, the feeling of wanting to roll my eyes is overwhelming, I'm sure you know what I mean :D Hopefully we will get this deal sorted in the next few days, it seemed amazing to think that no one else would come in, especially Man City and their 'Chelsea 2003' bidding for any decent player on the market.

Inter Join Race For CSKA Moscow Winger Milos Krasic

Inter have entered the fray to land CSKA Moscow winger Milos Krasic, according to Tuttomercato.

Juventus had appeared to be in pole position to sign the Serbia international, with their sporting director, Giuseppe Marotta, currently in the Russian capital hoping to thrash out a deal prior to the World Cup.

However, the Old Lady's quest for Krasic, who has become one of this summer's most sought-after players, appears to have hit a brick wall after other parties declared their interest.

Manchester City were last night reported as being interested in meeting Krasic's €15 million valuation, and Inter are now believed to be ready to do the same.

Tuttomercato claims that new Inter boss Rafael Benitez has even spoken with the winger over the phone in a bid to convince him of the advantages of linking up with the treble-winning side.

Krasic is currently in South Africa with the Serbia national squad, who are readying for their first World Cup encounter with Ghana on Sunday.

It would be so amateurish if Marotta lost out on Krasic to Inter. Would be huge blow for him at his new job.
