Milan Lab is the High Tech Scientific Research Centre set up by AC Milan with strong motivation, operating since July 2002. The club’s purpose is to optimise the psycho-physical management of the athletes by entrusting this task to MilanLAb which represents the ideal combination of science, technology, IT, cybernetics and psychology.

The objective: to attain and maintain performance at excellence level
Milan Lab contributes in various respects to optimise the team’s performance results: the objective of the conducted investigations and research studies is to optimise the athletes’ performance by evaluating the risks of injuries and supporting the club’s technical staff and managers in the area of Human Resources.

The players' health: the most valuable asset
The primary purpose of Milan Lab is first of all to protect each individual player. The psychophysical integrity of the champions is indeed the most valuable asset of a football team, whose performance on the field is important both for sports and economic results.

A systematic vision: organization as the result of its various components
Milan Lab carries out its work by developing the concept of a 'systematic vision' of the football team. Any organization, from a business enterprise to a football club, can actually be considered as a 'whole' composed of several correlated subsystems determining the overall outcome of the principal system. The global performance of the system results from the sum of the performances of the individual subsystems composing it. To maximise the overall result it is therefore necessary to optimise the performances of each subsystem by collecting the greatest number of information from all the areas involved in the process.

Information Technology and neural networks against injuries
Milan Lab makes use of most advanced and innovative software technologies to collect and process information. The artificial intelligence system gathers and processes data, acting as a self-educated mechanism capable of ’learning’ by processing the stored information. The goal is to determine which factors could most significantly contribute to the occurrence of ’events at risk’ for the player in order to make realistic estimates on future developments. The athlete’s well-being is influenced by three main subsystems: structural, biochemical and mental. Information concerning the psycho-physical state of each player is thus collected by MilanLab through a sophisticated system of wiring developed by Unysis and supported by the hardware equipment supplied by AMD. Then an advanced software developed by Computer Associates analyses the acquired information, whose final outcome is analysed by the innovative and proprietary technology of Pas (Predictive Analysis Server), a system operating to foresee and notify possible risks for the player.

Well, all that stuff certainly didn't work this season...
And it never will..

How will this so called "high tech" crap predict when Di Canio is in the mood of kicking someone in the balls, or when Totti wants to spit on someone's eyes and making him blind?

BBilan Lab said that the drug they give their players is "spaghetti with a lot of tomato sauce" and calculated that the "biological age" of Maldini is smg like 28 years old. That's why he is still able to play so many matches per season.

:howler:

Bullshit this anti-milanlab stuff.

The Milanlab is way ahead of it's time and a thing every sportsman would love to have. It keeps Milan's players topfit, and it sees any unfitness before any physician would.

What about the level of fitness of their aging stars like Cafu, Costacurta and Maldini?

Drugslab my ass, it's something every sportclub should aspire to have. It IS the future!

Cafu is the only exception here for great fitness, maldini and Costacurta have average fitness but they are great players and maintain their form.

I think its a waste of money, there are doctors, universities and other institutions doing this stuff, and their findings will be made public. Why spend to create this? Lets see next year and the coming years whether Milan's fitness can rival that of Juventus. Coz Juve have been winning in this department for years, hence the dopping accusations.

Tell me of any other teams with so many players in their 30'ties still playing on a high level?
