Might as well start talking about a new keeper... (3 Viewers)

He's certainly out for quite a time, not sure the length. Cudicini has got to be option #1 here. He's getting zero playing time despite being the best 'keeper in the premiership, plus he's italian! Surely he'd want to come and surely Chelsea wouldn't stand in his way either.
Agreed about Cudicini.

I wonder if Chelsea would loan us Cudicini. He's definitely one of the best back up keepers in world football and even though he would eventually lose his place in the starting lineup when Buffon returned I'm sure he wouldn't mind a couple months of first team action as that is more than he's going to get in London unless Cech suffers an injury. Other options are Pagliuca, Antonioli and Abbiati.

Only quiestion is why would Chelsea accept that?

in a strange way gigi's injury could be a good thing if he is not out for any longer than 6 to 8 weeks he hopefully will not have missed to many matches and juve might actually buy a good back up keeper cudicini would be fab.

lets hope gigi is a quick healer

Pagliuca is too good and too big a name to sit on the bench, even at the age of 38. Peruzzi is a good keeper but Lazio is unlikely to let him go.

He won't go to Roma, as they've already stated they intend to play Curci, and he's probably the best young keeper in Italy, and Palermo already have Gualdarben who's been called to the NT and played well for them last season. I'm not sure baout Siena tho.
Yes, I thought Siena was the most likely out of 3 and the rumours were strongest bout him and Siena, as the deal with Genoa failed.

Cudicini makes most sense.

Is there any way that the media is exaggerating the injury? [/hopeful]

I doubt we will be able to obtain Cudicini, Abbiati, or Pagliuca on loan for a few months, so those names are out of the question. We must go after a player such as Sicignano from one of the smaller clubs because they would actually consider playing as a backup keeper at Juventus, unlike Cudicini most likely. I think it's useless discussing players like Cudicini because their current clubs will probably not let them go and they won't want to play second to Buffon at Juve.

Agreed. IMO we need to buy someone thats already a backup keeper

    we already have one...

    his name is Chimenti !!

Imo, Chelsea would never part ways with Cudicini, he is a good insurance policy in case Cech gets hurt

Cudicini has to be one of the best backup goalies around... and is arguably among the top 3 in the EPL. So naturally, I don't see us getting our hands on him. Pagliuca and Antonioli are all excellent choices, but they are true full-time first teamers.

Chimenti isn't our man here. He's fine for the early stages of the Coppa, but he's full of holes for competitive matches that truly are top tier. And while I may be partial to Bonnefoi (given I hold the office of "Bonnefoi" on the Hattrick Juventus Federation ;) ) -- he's not league game material for us.

I like Andy's Sicignano suggestion, because he has Serie A starting experience but might not necessarily demand the starting job at all times.

And Peruzzi ... wouldn't that be a flashback?
